Purely speculative, obviously, because only the M has this now. But here is the deal. Stick a friend in a Stations, Coast, Harrah's, Leroy's, Cal-Neva and whereever else they offer in-game betting. You sit at the M. Everyone has an iPhone, and you share lines. At halftime one property has Kansas City +3, while another has -3. Maybe the book decides it wants to have a market maker to encourage action (increase liquidity), or maybe they don't understand that there's no reason not to keep it at -105 on both sides because they're not involved anymore. So maybe you can get -3 +110 at one book and +3 -105 at another.
The other option is more likely. Perhaps Harrah's posts a halftime line of Kansas City -2', and Coast has Oakland +4.
Over time, the books will get smarter at where to set the line... based on the action THEIR BOOK GETS. If Cowboys fans for some reason prefer a particular book, maybe it's -7 there instead of -3.
I do have a radio show, but it doesn't have anything to do with handicapping. I just play music.
