Fezzik, TMQ and I agree I had to laugh at some of the tweets regarding Romeo Crennel regarding his coaching decisions. In this week's TMQ article it was amusing to read that TMQ said he jotted down in his notebook "Game Over" when he saw the Chiefs kick a FG to make the score 9-6 against the Ravens. The Chiefs never saw the football again (no onside kick attempt). What one I had that was also curious was the Bengals kicking a FG with 3 min left I think to attempt to make the score 17-16 vs. the Dolphins. Lewis's idea it is theorized had to be get the game so they could get within one point so another FG would win it. (presumably a specialty of their offense and what their strength is---I almost applaud him for recognizing that). Of course, they missed the FG and needed a TD on their last drive. At least they did get the ball back. But it seemed to be a poor decision from the start. They were pretty deep in Miami territory near the red zone and the 4th down needed to convert was I think 3 yards. It seems you should go for it there. I was actually following this game online so wasn't too impressed with the decision. TMQ put in their weekly article as well.....Bengals go for a FG and he wrote in his notes "Game Over". Okay, how about Jim Harbaugh? I think he had a 4th and really short inside the Buffalo 5 early in the game. All the stats from the professors who studied it and modeled it tell you to go for it. Instead a new star coach pulls out the FG team for the early lead. (Come on eventually they would roll 300 yds against these guys on the ground and they're not going for it 4th and short?). Whose to say? They kept their momentum felt good about taking the lead and ended up with the demolition anyways of the Bills. However, I have to think in Fezzik's live in play betting.....that Bills +10 or +10.5 looked a little better when the FG unit came on.
