Fezzik's approach

Just cont. to bet fezz"s bad teams and u will cont. to lose!
Just cont. to bet fezz"s bad teams and u will cont. to lose!
I am as unhappy with the selections as anyone but come on 2 posts in over 2 years and this is all you contribute. It is not a picks site per se and if that is what you are looking for there are several mentioned here. Try to at least contribute something positive before bashing.
canoehead and carolina " 2 fine rookies ". LOL.
Totally agree with thedude. I have no idea what the overall records are but I've been betting a ton of faves and a ton of overs and having the best year I've ever had. Not sure if it is a public angle or a no one can play defense anymore because of the rules angle (which may be helping the faves as the NFL becomes a pure offensive league) but it's working. I only like the +3 4 weight picks cause it lets us bet -2.5 -115 or even -110 if we get lucky. This board has a ton of value, it moves lines. Sean

Anthony, why have the pros (that I am aware of) not posting any more. By the looks of number of members, I would think you would be increasing value.
That's a valid point. I agree that some we brought in haven't been contributing and I have to take some responsibility for that. They will have to amend if they want to continue to have access here.
Not sure there has been any systematic change in line or line value based on the macro approach of favorites v. dogs. Here are the ATS records. Seems pretty fluid. These numbers are from Dr. Meyers database. 2011 ATS: 27-31-2 (-0.2) avg line: -5.3 2010 ATS: 128-131-5 (0.1) avg line: -5.1 2009 ATS: 128-132-3 (0.8) avg line: -6.6 2008 ATS: 125-132-3 (0.6) avg line: -5.7 2007 ATS: 131-121-11 (0.7) avg line: -6.1 2006 ATS: 115-143-6 (-1.8) avg line: -5.6 2005 ATS: 148-108-10 (2.4) avg line: -5.4 2004 ATS: 123-130-7 (-0.1) avg line: -5.4 2003 ATS: 133-125-7 (1.5) avg line: -5.0 2002 ATS: 113-143-4 (-0.7) avg line: -5.1 2001 ATS: 114-125-7 (-0.2) avg line: -5.3 2000 ATS: 114-125-3 (0.1) avg line: -5.9
no offense to anyone here, but this was completely expected. Fez touted this site on his twitter account all pre-season. I'm sure Fez and Anthony both have seen a lot of "fresh meat" throwing around $100/month on these selections. These aren't your experienced, educated bettors. These are new guys looking for tout picks. If these picks come out late and lose, they are going to be upset and post threads like this. While you might not like it, I know you don't mind their $ each month, and this is exactly what should be expected when a site grows. There are only so many experienced guys who don't care about a terrible week. Most of the new people are highly pissed im sure, and if they need a way to vent than that's fine IMO. The advice from Anthony is "You should think hard about whether or not this is for you. No offense. Honest." - Yes, i'm sure this is what was said to them when they signed up for plays that were being touted as being from the only 2x super contest winner w/ a long term winning record. This is why, IMO, having the computer bob record is VITAL - you need to show what his record is. If people want in, they can get in and deal w/ it. But when the record is not discussed publicly (outside this forum) and only good days are tweeted about and good plays, then tons of new guys looking for a sure buck are going to come here. And when they find that Fez is dong mediocre they will be WTF? I know it's a tough dilemma for you running the site, but this comes w/ the territory - you want to grow and make more $, but if you aren't open w/ the actual records, and weeks like this happen, newbies will be upset. While you are right in a way that "this might not be right for them", I think you guys should do more to help these new guys out w/ money management advice and stuff like that. You know you have a ton of new, uneducated people now, right? There is nothing for them here. Thus all they see is the plays. And if they lose a lot of money, they are upset. I also like the vets here providing advice. Canoe and Carolina and the rest of new guys - everyone has bad weeks, and you can't bet a ton of your bankroll on each week. That said, you guys, me, and everyone here is hoping Fez turns this thing around. It is always easy to second guess a pick after the game is over. But no one is satisfied right now with Fez's record, and we all need him to win. The difference is, many of us have seen that in real betting, Fez is not hitting 60% or close. So you can't possibly put too much of your bankroll on these plays, they historically don't hit well enough to do that. Don't chase and gamble responsibly. That said, losing all these 4* games does suck, especially when that's what they are rated. I don't know his overall record, computer bob will let us know this week.
Good and fair post. The business of making money in gambling is tough and requires a great deal of effort. That's my primary message. Regarding building the site, I would like to see it flourish, but it's not as high a priority as many of you seem to think. Fezz and I really like the idea of a controlled environment with lots of good input. We're close to that on several levels, but not there yet. We want it to grow naturally. Or not. We're not obsessed with knocking it out of the park, but we want very much for those that are here to have a good experience. Of course, that's difficult to accomplish when people are losing. Again, losing is simply part of winning overall. No way around it that I know of.
I think those guys were venting and a little frustrated. I am assuming they just joined recently, and ran into some bad timing with the selections. Stick it out for a few month's, then if you feel this site is not for you, part ways.
