Friday Baseball Having a great season thought I'd post a play here to test out the interest.
Chicago at Florida
The Cubs have come out of the All-Star break on fire, finally playing up to their preseason potential. Tonight they send a healthy Rich Harden to the mound and the veteran has been absolutely nasty as of late. In his last three starts he has allowed 2 earned runs covering 19 innings. His strikeout to walk rate during that time is 21 to 2. He's had seven road starts this season and six of those have been quality starts, the lone exception he allowed just two earned runs in 5.1 innings at Detroit. Overall he has a sparkling 2.03 ERA on the road this season.
Florida counters with young talent Chris Volstad who has been very inconsistent as of late. In his last nine starts he has allowed four or more earned runs five times. He's really struggled with his control the past two outings with a 4 to 8 strikeout to walk ratio. He owns a whopping 5.24 ERA at home this year.
Chicago has taken 6 of the last 8 meetings in this series and they enter play tonight having won 13 of their last 17 games. With Harden on the hill we look for that streak to continue.
