Not convinced at all that having played for, and won, two titles will help this team be up for un underrated Cin team. And remember, you are betting
into a horrible set of 8 point or more favorites (18-45). I cannot remember DDD being +EV in bowls EVER!
You're not convinced that perhaps the best college football player EVER will want to go out on a high note? Meyer has been EXCELLENT at getting this team prepared to play against the better teams, i.e. 17-5 ATS record against teams with a winning record the last three years.
Last year's Bama team was an immature bunch that lost an absolute heartbreaker of a game, as they led the entire way. This year's Florida team is much more seasoned, accomplished, and they just were flat-out beatdown in that SEC championship. There was nothing heartbreaking about it. While I wholeheartedly agree that the DD favorite is a -EV subset to bet into, this situation calls for a much different play IMO. Florida gets the big picture. Their senior class will go down as perhaps the best in school history--and even NCAA history. They'll be amped to cement their legacy with an emphatic defeat of an "undefeated" team.
And on top of all the above factors, I get a reeling Bearcat program that feels betrayed and has to adapt to a new head coach? I can see the Gillyards and the Pikes listening to their new coach with wide eyes and ears---yeah, right. This isn't like West Va. two years ago after Rich Rod left. This Cincy team doesn't have an old guard they can rally around. And their facing the best class of players (Florida seniors) in the last twenty years of college football.
