Hou Texans - Key teaser leg Two weeks ago it was the Saints on MNF. Last week it was the
GB Packers and things fell good as Calvin Johnson was a late scratch
that sent the line up past 10. This week I think the Houston Texans
are the team to key on in teasers.
St Louis is just not as good as they were thought to be going into
the season. Their young players are not advancing as expected.
The def line is not the lynchpin of the defense that was projected.
They are not defending the run well, allowing 170 ypg the last three
and they are 26th in sacks. The offense is strictly dink and dunk.
What was looked at as young potential at the skill positions is now
becoming a reality of inexperience and unreliability. The Houston
defense should not have a problem with this group.
Offensively, the Texans should be able to run the ball effectively
and not be forced into taking risks. Matt Schaub is in the midst of
a bad run but his teammates should step up and take the burden
off him in this one. At 2-3 and off an embarrassing loss, and vs an
opponent that is off a win (vs the worst team in the league) the
line value is all with the Texans. The sharper shops (Pinny, 5D, Greek)
all see this and are in teaser protection mode but their are plenty of
7.5s out there to tease down. Houston playing at home can not afford
to drop this one and they are far superior on both sides of the ball.
Final confirmation comes from the market money line which is in
the -350 range. Teasing Hou now at 7.5 gets you the equivalent of betting
Hou -1.5 -260. Houston will be my key teaser team this week.
