How do the bengals spike the ball one 1st down

How do the bengals spike the ball one 1st down with 2 times outs left and 45 seconds??? Clearly downs more important than time outs at this point. Its a good thing I dont own NFL teams or there would be a lot of coaches looking for new jobs.

Because they are the most stupid team in the NFL. This is the 2nd time they have done this already this season.

Understand that the play call at the end of the 1st half appeared to be a middle screen from the 25 with 7 seconds left. And a run fake to boot--wow

how are there not 32 people in the country to be hired, say from nasa or mit, to explain to these coaches when 2 spike, take a TO, go for 2, etc, i hate to jump 3 threads w/ the same message but it is remarkable the 32 owners of billion dollar enterprises allow their companies to be run by such incompetence...

Unfortunately, it seems the prereq these days to coach football is having played it at some point - not the rule, but many many come up that way.. These aren't always the brightest bunch in the room. If I ran any NFL or CFB team, I'd have a math guy on my staff whose job was to call time outs, know when to spike, know when to go for two, know when to go on 4th down, etc. Hey you idiot owners - i'm volunteering. But honestly, the Bills and Falcons not going on 4th down is astounding while down 2 scores. And how about Wash St kicking a field goal down 20 last night. These guys are amazing
