In the NBA This goes back a few years but an offshore friend had a customer who was buying any NBA game around the #s 8 and 9. No rhyme or reason to it. One side was "bought on every game lined near those numbers.
You would think there was a "system" but was just those 2 numbers.
If my memory is correct it was also only the second half of NBA season where he did this.
Eventually they tossed him. 2006, 2007 seasons.
I "followed" this on games last year, sort of. I was not as dedicated or sick as the customer above but if I caught a correct line move where one end was at or near the 8 or 9 I bought through "his subset" for the middle bet.
Naturally since I was "on it" it was a loser.
Not only was it a loser, any NBA dedicated middle bettor last year had to lose. It actually was the best year I ever had getting NBA middles. I had at least one 4 pointer a week. The norm is you may get one 3 point middle a week. We were getting them almost daily.
Anyway, best year we ever had getting on the correct side of line moves. Worst year we ever had "landing" enough to make money.
The database guys should be able to help but from my searching back then the guy was correct-the 8 and 9 were the best catch #s in the NBA at that time.
