In play betting

In play betting I bet incomplete pass, Sanchez is forced to scramble around behind the line of scrimmage while trying to find someone to throw it to, and he's sacked. Bodog graded the wager as a loss. Sacks are considered run plays. Nice little edge for the book. Is this the way it is scored everywhere?

Why would a sack be considered an incomplete pass?

Actually, no sack is recorded by the NFL if the qb tries to run it and is tackled behind the line of scrimmage.
Actually, no sack is recorded by the NFL if the qb tries to run it and is tackled behind the line of scrimmage.
I believe it is up to the NFL to determine if the qb was trying to run, and therefore making it a run. If they determine he was not trying to run it is a sack. Open to interpretation by the NFL.

I just don't understand how you could possibly think that a QB getting sacked or a QB running the ball but tackled before he reaches the LOS is a incomplete pass. Makes no sense.

If it is not a run play then it should either be graded NO PLAY or an incomplete pass. The NFL considers the play a passing attempt. It wasn't a completed pass so what does that leave? The site/sites should then have a field to choose sack. Really it doesn't matter I was micro betting the crap and probably won't do it again even though I was a small winner. On top of that one play, In an obvious running situation they froze me out and the very next play they froze me out again in the same situation, saying I wasn't logged in. Though I had played 3 or the last 5 plays over the last minute. I wasn't logged out, the site doesn't log me out for 10 or 20 minutes of no activity.
if the ball was never thrown how could it be considered a pass. there is a difference between a pass play and a pass attempt, if no pass was attempted it whouldn't be considered complete or otherwise it's a running play, therefore if you bet on the next play to be an "incomplete pass" i would believe the wager was graded correctly.

Forget it. I lost the bet. Let us move on.

Sacks are not considered pass attempts in the nfl (and not considered runs either). They are just sacks. When computing yards per pass (which I know is not what you were doing) you must subtract yards sacked from yards passing and add in sacks as attempts. They are not considered attempts and maybe that's why Bodog didn't count it as an attempt either.
