Indy coach Jim Caldwell

Indy coach Jim Caldwell How the hell did Indy come up with this guy as their head coach? He coached Wake Forest from 1993 to 1999, leading them to ACC records that did not get better than 3-5. He then went to to coach the Tampa quarterbacks, where he shaped great quarterbacks such as Chris Simms, Bruce Gradkowski, Brian Griese, and Luke McCown. And now he's the head coach of the Colts? He must have some serious pictures in his vault.
he's been in coaching since 77 or 78 so experience isnt an issue he's been with Indy for 7 years, so they brought someone in house who knew the people/operations he has been asst head coach for Indy for 3 years so he knew the inner workings and needs of being a head coach and i am guessing he was good friends with Tony Dungy who recommended him. i suspect Tony helped groom him in 2008 to be the head coach.
Tony did groom Caldwell. I think he's an OK hire, but I wasn't overwhelmed either. I think it was a continuity hire. He'll keep the same offense and Peyton had a lot of say in this as well.
Thanks Jeff. My guy read his resume wrong :)

Jim Caldwell will be more aggressive on offense....Tony Dungy mentioned this on Sunday night football talking with Al Michaels. Dungy was the head coach who always thought defense first. It won't be that way anymore...bombs away for Manning...pass, pass and pass some more
