IS RAS College Totals Service worth $10,000

You guys seem a little behind on what's going on. Edward of RAS has postponed finalizing any decision until he sees what the market looks like through November. There is currently no 10K to 25 subscribers deal.
As the popularity of the service has grown, line movement and betting conditions have worsened. The primary goal of limiting availability of the service is to improve conditions or at least stop them from getting any worse. It is anyone's guess as to how much if any the conditions will be improved, but with a lot less people racing and more control over who has access we think it will be a step in the right direction, assuming there is even a market available that is comparable to last season. That is what we hope to determine in the first few weeks. Edward
PC said it best.
just bet the fuckin' thing yourself.
If you have good handicapping skills but poor access to books then you should sell picks. I think your point is that a monopolist would coordinate the information and hit books simultaneously. That is roughly what happens when subscribers all move the number. They could auction off subscriptions. Perhaps they decide that 25 subscribers is the ideal number to exploit the information. Then subscribers would presumably bid more than if they sold 50 or 100 subscriptions. But there is an inevitable temptation to cheat and sell extra one. They might also consider a cheaper service with late releases. Ahearnb made the most sensible point. The safest business decision is to ratchet up prices while winning and see what the market will bear. Are Grux's records at the release number, or at the close (after the number has moved)?

You still would have made a nice profit betting into some bad numbers. Google Right Angle Sports if you want to look at his records.;)
