IU-OHIO STATE & AUB-TENN Kicking x points with no time??? Can anybody explain why the refs let Indiana Kick the Extra point with no time left in the game? But In the Auburn-Tennessee game the refs just run off the field. The Big Ten refs let IU kick the extra point while the SEC run off the field. I know two years ago Kentucky scored a late Touchdown vs Florida, and didnt let the Cats kick the final extra point on a touchdown with no time left on the clock. The game was right on the number. Florida covered that line by 1. CBS National game, btw. ** Also these SEC refs are very picks. Always throwing flags. Illegal formation, men down field, you name it. And love flagging for unsportsmanlike penalites all the time. They are now worse than the PAC 10 refs for throwing flags...go figure???
they kicked the pat in ttech too i think tenny wanted to kick, but everyone ran onto the field and it would have been a logicistal nightmare to get everyone back off just to try a "meaningless" 2 pt convo
I'm not sure - I think the kicking team has the right, but has to make it happen... I just know with OSU lined at 47 much of the week (Got me to double my wager) I'm glad IU kicked

Texas Tech was -13.5 in the second half!

The rule clearly states that they are not supposed to kick. There was a good thread at SFW last week linking it. Just people being inept.
custer, i'm the one who posted about this over at sfw. it drives me to the point of distraction that ncaa referees literally DO NOT KNOW THE RULES. i can understand fans and gamblers not knowing, or thinking they know, because they saw it before, of it's the same as the nfl, etc. IT IS NOT THE NFL, and there is a SPECIFIC rule in the ncaa rulebook (available online free at ncaapublications.com) that tells how this is to be handled. it's on page 108 (fr-108 to be exact), section 3, article 2, subparagraph a----"the ball shall be put in play by the team that scored a six point touchdown. if a touchdown is scored during a down in which time in the fourth period expires, the try shall not be attempted unless the point(s) would afect the outcome of the game."---btw, the outcome the ncaa is referring to is the SU outcome (ha ha). this has been the rule for a while , and if you lost/won a game on an xp with zeros , you got unlucky/lucky.
