KSU just punted from the CO 30!

KSU just punted from the CO 30! ................ And so we'll start the dumb coach thread for this week
BC punted on 4th and 10 from the ND 34 Coaches are such fucking retards....its only 10 yards, if you get it, drive leads to 3 or 7 points. if you don't your defense is not put in a bad field position spot. How hard is that to understand?
did anyone see that TV interview recently of the high school coach who never punts, citing mathmatical reasons? I think his name was Kevin Kelley if anyone wants to google. Oh yeah, his team is a powerhouse. His strategy works.I think he said he always onsides kicks too. I kid you not.
Kevin Kelly punts 3 times per season and has 75% onside kicks. https://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=4577094&categoryid=2378529

situational stuff would call for a few punts a year. If you have 4th and 20 from your own 10 yard line and are leading by 6 points with 1:40 left in the game, I don't think anyone could sanely argue for going for it. His strategy would put a lot of pressure on opponents, which I like. Stop them for 3 downs? so what. they will just go for it. you have to stop them 4 downs. And while that is happening and your defense is struggling to get off the field, has to be in your head as an opposing player or coach if they score, you still may not get the ball because they will onside kick Never heard it said before, but I think their is a big in-game emotional downer for a team when they stop an opponent and the other team "should" punt, but they go for it and eventually score. If a team has 4th and 2 from the 40, go for it and eventually get 7, big downer for the other team. Everyone knows they stopped them and they were "supposed" to punt. Instead they put up 7.
This effect may diminish a bit over time with this particular opponent, because they're not mainly trying to rub your face in it; this is just what they do. If an offense is playing as if they have four downs, then third-down plays are not called the same way. Eventually defenses, when playing this team, will react to this and treat third down perhaps as a bastardized second down. Of course I am sure Coach Kevin has a list of parameters to determine when to start treating third down like third down again, a Kelly criterion of sorts.
Add the Clemson coach to those who are retarded
to all the coaches who go shotgun inside apponents five yrd line, by the time the ball gets to the qb if there is any penetrations plays over, must have seen this three times today all for losses.
