situational stuff would call for a few punts a year.
If you have 4th and 20 from your own 10 yard line and are leading by 6 points with 1:40 left in the game, I don't think anyone could sanely argue for going for it.
His strategy would put a lot of pressure on opponents, which I like. Stop them for 3 downs? so what. they will just go for it. you have to stop them 4 downs. And while that is happening and your defense is struggling to get off the field, has to be in your head as an opposing player or coach if they score, you still may not get the ball because they will onside kick
Never heard it said before, but I think their is a big in-game emotional downer for a team when they stop an opponent and the other team "should" punt, but they go for it and eventually score. If a team has 4th and 2 from the 40, go for it and eventually get 7, big downer for the other team. Everyone knows they stopped them and they were "supposed" to punt. Instead they put up 7.
