Lucky's Update and a Request To All bettors Re: Lucky's

Lucky's Update and a Request To All bettors Re: Lucky's This thread follows-up on a post I made earlier, regarding my concerns about Lucky's and the direction they may be headed. I was pleasantly surprised to be contacted directly by Joe Asher, the President and CEO of Lucky's. Joe and I had a about a twenty minute conversation on a variety of topics. We agreed on some, we disagreed on at least one issue. However, we both would very much like to be proactive addressing any concerns Lucky's customers have, and what Lucky's can do to be a top book and player. Pursuant to that, this is your thread folks. Please provide any concrete specific examples of customer service/betting/general experiences with Lucky's. What are they doing well? What can they improve on? What are they doing, that they shouldn't be doing? I have direct contact with the man that can most certainly impact change, and MAKE IT HAPPEN. Please try to provide specific examples, preferably with exact times, and dates if you have this information. Many thanks to this board..........appreciate all the great information you provide.
What I'd like to see from any book LV or otherwise: -Post a limit. -Honor the limit. -No bullshit 'someone bet it at another property and the line moved' crap. No one believes you, including your own ticket writers. If you don't want to take an off market bet, you should hire someone who is willing to watch a screen and adjust accordingly. If they aren't very good at doing that, you should replace them with someone else. It isn't hard. Too many LV books being run like the IP drive-up window imo.
lucky's (and leroy's): if the line is in the computer when you place the bet, honor the bet. no 30-60 second pause, deny and then line change. just as the previous poster mentioned... hire a guy who is moving lines. i dont care if he is moving on air, just honor the number that is in the computer when the bet is placed. the only time a pause should be necessary is when a bettor is trying to bet above house limits. mgm/mirage: along the same path of lucky's/leroy's but taking it a BIG step further. they dont verify a bet at limit or less BUT... they need to cut it out with the... "sir, we need that ticket back...someone else bet it before you at another property." "what if i dont give it back?" "then we wont be able to take your bets anymore." i agree 100% with fezzik's recommended las vegas sports books for betting. as for no hassles, accepting wagers regardless of line or limit id rank: M #1, South Point #2, Hilton #3 and Cal Neva #4. the way M sportsbook has been run so far should be a model for every other book in the city.
This may not be the place for this, and I admit to being naive about these things as a (mostly) penny bettor, but: Why don't books lower the limit but not necessarily move the line when a limit bet is made? By lowering the limit, it limits their exposure, and then if they decide not to move the line, they can still accept another limit bet (after which perhaps they will move the line). We've established that even the best hit 55% of their bets. Maybe if you can anticipate line moves it's 60? So even on a $5500 bet, how much EV is the casino really risking? I think they're treating these bets as a 100% loss when someone makes a move on them, and I imagine most of the time, it's just someone acting on information that's going to be right only 60% of the time at best. This relatively minor cost has to be offset by the PR cost, not to mention when there is a game with heavy two-way action, you need to make sure you get balanced action. (Typically sharps are on one side, but it doesn't mean it's the side that wins.) I hate these kinds of posts, but I wanted to bring up this point. There are a ton more of us penny bettors out there, and we want to support the book that doesn't make us sweat, so we watch you guys and see how you're treated. When you guys get backed off or denied service on a wager, sometimes it makes a public board or even the newspaper. (Hell, I grind out blackjack when I visit on a 10-60 spread and worry I am going to get caught; how naive is that? This is the face of your low-stakes advantage gambler!)

In defense of the books, sometimes someone else IS betting at another location at exactly the same time you are. Let's not pretend this isn't happening.
I'm sure some syndicates do this, but this wasn't a BillyWalters Blast Text Situation And it is not just Lucky's that has started pulling this ridiculous move. I remember earlier this year on a Wednesday afternoon I walk up to Jerry's Nugget and try to make some straight forward bets. I get told "OH, Sorry, someone just hit the same bets, we aren't going to be able to take those". It's W at 1pm. NO ONE is in this casino. AND those that were there, most certainly aren't betting football for the weekend. C'mon. I do like the Jerry's head guy, but that doesn't change my reaction. I just walked out, shaking my head.
I played an NBA bet at Mr. Luckys recently that was off by 2.5 pts. I asked for a nickel, did not want to try for more. bet was accepted then line changed
WTF, Fezz, you edit me for mentioning that there are runners in Vegas? That sometimes different guys from a crew coordinate their betting so as to be getting down at different outlets at the same time? When I said "runners from your crew," I wasn't talking about you as in YOU (Fezzik), I meant generically, "you" as in "you, the guy, any guy, at the window getting put on hold." And in any case, WTF, censorship like that?
sept-dec last yr i knew people that would bet at luckys. for the most part they would parlays with at least a 3x differential. w/o exaggeration, they would take on average 1 min to approve each bet. making 30-40 bets would take about 40 minute. it was completely absurd and they would be decline certain bets for no apparent reason. the bets they declined were not -7/o17. they were at least 3x.. as mentioned, they started in a promising mannr but have tumbled into the pre-Nick neva days changing #'s after the bet n cutting limits
i'm just curious but why is fez editing pachuca's post?
