Masoli Back In For Mississippi NCAA ruling reversed, Masoli can play for Rebels By JIM MASHEK - [email protected] E-MAIL PRINT REPRINT OR LICENSE TEXT SIZE: The NCAA Division I Subcommittee for Legislative Relief reversed Tuesday’s NCAA ruling against Ole Miss quarterback Jeremiah Masoli, meaning the Rebels’ player will be able to play immediately rather than wait until the 2011 season. Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt admitted the Rebels were “devastated” by Tuesday’s ruling earlier this week, as Ole Miss has just two other scholarship quarterbacks. Masoli qualified for a NCAA waiver that allows a player who has graduated from one Division I institution to avoid sitting out a year after transferring to another school. He was thrown off the team at Oregon in June after multiple scrapes with the law, including a burglary conviction.
