Miami @ TBay MNF 11/11 The story on the Dolphins Incognito and maybe others looks like it's
going to be one of those things that the media will just keep going with
for at least a week or so, especially if they can dig up something
additional. If another player gets mentioned it could last awhile.
One thing is for certain, the questions that the players will have to
deal with will have little to do with stuff on the field. Playing on MNF
you'd expect it will be a distraction that will continue at least until then.
Tampa is 0-8 but clearly are a better team then the other winless team,
the Jaguars. The Bucs came as close to beating the Seahawks in Seattle
as any team over the last two years. Seattle has not lost a home game
since the 2011 season and the understandably overlooked and winless Bucs
took a big lead before finally losing in OT last week. There is also the issue of
losing the left side of your starting offensive line for the Dolphins. This is
not a minor issue and along with the distractions the media will present
makes it a real tough week of prep for Miami. The 0-8 Tampa situation and
coach Greg Schiano will take a big backseat to the Dolphins in the media.
The pressure will be off at home for Tampa for at least this game.
The public will not want to bet on Miami this week mainly due to the story.
This sounds a little silly but it's the way the casual fan thinks and acts. The line
on Monday was TBay +3 -110 at a lot of shops. I got out in front of it and took
+3 for as much as I could as a lead bet with the intent of building a position
on the Bucs that should give a lot of options for the buy back come Monday.
Once you lose the +3, the teaser becomes the best option and I will load up
on that next. These are strictly position building bets at this point. I do think
the Bucs will be the right side in the game but that is somewhat irrelevant
right now. Playing the anticipated line move and will deal with how to close
things out later in the week. The fact that it's the MNF game means that it
will most likely be the back end of any teaser it gets used in and that's always
a nice spot to be in if the line moved your way.
