MLB on Monday and Tuesday Fellas, There should be some offense and possible "over" opportunities the next two days in St. Louis. Tonight (Monday): Over 8.5 Kyle Lohse has not won in his previous six starts for the Redbirds, going 0-3 with a 5.84 ERA in his five starts since being on the DL. In his past six starts for Cincy, Johnny Cueto is 0-5 with a 9.85 ERA, allowing 49 hits, 13 walks and seven home runs in 28 1/3 innings. Opponents are hitting .386 against him in that span. And with the new additions to the lineup, the Cardinals have stepped it up on the offensive end. Tuesday: ? (Check it out when released later today.) Todd Wellemeyer has been, statistically, the worst starting pitcher in the majors this season. He has the highest ERA (5.67) of any big-league starter. No starter has allowed a higher rate of base runners (15.89 per nine innings). Lefthanded hitters have punished Wellemeyer for a .343 batting average this season. The Reds don't have much besides Votto fromt he left side of the plate, but I'm guessing some youngsters will get the opportunity to tee off. The rookie Lehr is pitching for the Reds. Truth be told, it might be a good opportunity to fade the Cardinals. For whatever reason, they always seem to have difficulty when facing a pitcher for the very first time. I never bet against my team (bad karma), so I won't be fading the Cardinals, but you might want to consider the value in that play. Good karma, fellas Lew
