Money Talks Quarter-Finals, Adam Meyer vs. Dave Hochman

Money Talks Quarter-Finals, Adam Meyer vs. Dave Hochman Meyer -125, Hochman +105 Your fun, for entertainment only purposes line.......... I will be listening, and rooting for Dave!
ditto.... If Adam wins, we will never hear the end of it...
He does like to talk about himself He is on a local station here in the bay area each Friday. It is hard to listen to the guy. In his own words, "Call me. It will be a life changing experience".
I have no clue who Adam Meyer is but I know he has a "pay for play" radio "guest spot" here in Atlanta. Two guys I know each told me that on the show he says that he's made a $200 bettor over a million dollars in the past year. That's not a bad performance, so I think he should be more like -140 or so.

Someone call Vegas Insider, get them to fix Adam Meyer's record They show him at 53.5% overall......a fine record BUT It must be wrong since on his site Adam says he consistently wins at 70% ATS. PREDICTION: MR. Meyer, will leave VI in the next year, citing some other reason. But the real reason is that he will realize that getting documented over there is a horrific move on his part, as the data will completely contradict his own claims. And of course we will get the story of how VI understates his record, despite what we know.....VI gives you the best number on the screen, even at some low limit square shops. Computer Bob and others have discussed how this rating inflationjuices records by about 1% vs. Widely available numbers. I've noticed a pattern in the industry: 1. The honest, successful, do it right handicappers in the business like me. They like what I do. They like the fact I call it like I see it. 2. The touts who take the short-cuts, do anything to get sales, and make unjustified and ridiculous claims don't like me. That's ok. As John McClain says "I got enough friends". And as for Mr. Meyer wanting to bet 100k on his NFL bets, and being upset that Vegas does not want to take his action, Adam should head over to The M where they will have NO PROBLEMS accepting his action. Tell em Fezzik sent you. If he can make $200 bettors millionaires, he should be able to blow up the M at these limits.....

I was surprised that the hosts would have him on, because I consider the two of them as standup sports guys. I guess not.

If the hosts are stand up guys they probably aren't too thrilled with it. I've lost some longstanding interview sports in the last few years to Wayne Root and that guy who was in that movie. 5 years ago radio ads were close to sold out on a decent station. Now they're chasing for scraps. The only way to monetize a radio spot on a big station like that is big claims followed up by aggressive sales tactics. My saying "56% in college football over the last 6 years" might get a few opt-ins, at best. The general sports audience thinks that's horrible.
Joel, RealWorld is right. Adam PAYS for the 15 minute spot. There is language in the contract that Meyer's phone number has to be mentioned so many times. Adam emails Fitz and Brooks the games he wants to discuss each week, etc etc, besides the two they usually go over.
Adam Meyer tried to get known and his face out there in the beginning with Larry Grossman's radio programing many many years ago. Larry didn't know a thing about him and when he wanted to put up 10k to beat i forget who in a two person contest & donate the 10k to a charity of Larry's choice if he lost. He was begging for publicity with NO record and just pounding his meat.I've heard of him since with NO particular success. I think he is just another rip off out there with grandiose self promoting with a lot of BS for the unwary.. GL
It paints me to say it, but he does have some talent 53.5%, which is quite a good record. Also, I never want to get into someone's personal betting history, but to his credit, it is pretty known that Mr. Meyer does bet big on football. So we have a not that unusual situation. Guy with talent who looks to make more money....often in less than stand up ways.
