NBA/NHL Totals for Thursday

NBA/NHL Totals for Thursday I don't know if anyone has noticed it but NHL Scoring has been somewhat down this year and especially of late. UNDER was 6-0 yesterday and 9-2 over the last 2 days and dating back to the last 3 weeks, they are hitting at a pretty alarming rate. We were lucky enough to get one of those OVERS on Tuesday. That most likely means that Books are taking notice and we are starting to see less 6's out there and shaded 5.5's toward the Under as well. Most likely as well, this is going to give us some nice opportunities. I don't have anything yet for today and I am scouring the card and punching in the numbers. I will be back with a couple of plays almost for sure and maybe an NBA with a small card tonight.
It is no wonder why the Blackhawks are favored tonight at Phoenix with the Coyotes recent play and the fact that Chicago has been a thorn in their side, winning the last 6 meetings. Both of those facts are going to be a motivating factor tonight for the home team and I suspect they will come to play. Playing means good D for this team and part of the reason why they are 11-4 UNDER the Total this year. The other reason is their very fine goalie who has struggled vs these BHawks but should be on his game tonight. Chicago has been an UNDER Machine of late and are 5-0 in fact Under the Total their last 5. That makes these Hockey Teams 9-1 UNDER combined over the last 10. Trends are one thing but real facts are another and the visitors, as visitors, are not netting a lot of goals when they travel, just 2.25 gpg in fact. But they are allowing just 1.5 gpg in the same situation. This is not Rocket Science here. I have this one handicapped at 4.45 and good enough to jump. I went with it as I did the under winner yesterday. Again I got a little better line and that always helps. Thanks for the efforts, BP. JG
Instead of starting a new thread I am going to put this College Football Total right here. I am also going to be brief. Tonight is a nite for Temple to do some showcasing and with their ground game, and the lack of the Redhawks stopping the run, they should be able to put up some points. Perhaps a lot of them. That is especially true since the visitors have suffered a lot of injuries on the D Side of the ball. Miami has been an iffy offensive squad this year but they have found a passing attack, averaging almost 350 ypg over the last 2 times on the field and stopping the Pass is the weakest link to this Owls D. This is most likely going to be a popular play at the books and I am one of those playing along. I sure do wish I would have gotten 42 earlier. #305/306 Miami Ohio/Temple Over 42.5

I don't bet a lot of Team Totals but I am going to have play this one. I think the Redhawks will find the endzone a couple times tonight. #305 Miami Ohio Over 12.5
The Minnesota Wild got off to a horrific start to the year but things are better for this team and mostly because they are protecting the net much better. It has been something they have done for many years and also why they have always been a good UNDER proposition. Their last 7 of 8 have done just that and tonight they play a team that has been predictable in two ways. They have not netted on the road. They have not allowed opponents to do so recently with the exception of a contest at Anaheim. Vancouver is scoring 1.85 Goals Per Game while travling but they are playing a Wild team that is scoring just 2.1 Goals Per Contest this year. With a lengthy list of injuries, including leading scorer Daniel Sedin, the Canucks are not likely to pose any real scoring threat. Their best goalie is out as well but Raycroft has filled in nicely with a GAA of just 1.52. #61/62 Canucks/Wild Under 5.5 -130
Ok, I have decided that we are going to see our fair share of points tonight in the Hokie/ECU Contest and a lot of that stems from the fact that VT is on the road and less likely to have a stellar D output. Let's look at some facts. VT averages 31 points per game versus teams that allow 19 ppg. VT averages 190 yards per game on the ground on 4.6 yards per rush versus teams that allow 117 ypg on 3.5 ypr. VT is averaging a whopping 9.6 yards per pass attempt versus teams that allow 6.4 yards per pass attempt. The Pirates allow opposing quarterbacks to complete 63.4% of their passes. The Pirates secondary allows 250 passing yards per game on 7.2 yards per pass attempt versus teams that average 207 passing yards per game on 6.4 yards per pass attempt. The Pirates have scored 49 and 38 points over the last two weeks while gaining close to a 1,000 yards in those games and here on the Big TV Screen, they are apt to continue that. I know that this total has trended down a bit but I am not sure if it will go down further and while it is on a key number I am going to bet it. #307/308 Virginia Tech/East Carolina Over 51
Ok, all in the books tonight and I struggled to a 3-2 night. 12-5 on all totals posted here. I sort of realized today that I am about the only person that actually posts any thoughts on the plays. I have been working too hard!! For the rest of my tenure here, which is just under 3 weeks, when I have to decide to cough up another 24.95 (5 Big Mac Meals) just the plays, no fancy smancy writeups.
