Nba season wins
Anyone know when they go up? Anyone have a team to back or fade?
I'm not sure when the numbers are going up, but it should be within a week or so, I would think. I'll post my projected wins for each team, along with an analysis on how I came to my numbers, on Friday or so. I don't know if it will be of any value or not. In short, I used a mathematical model, with mathematical adjustments that tweak (or more than tweak) the numbers based on factors such as age, strength of schedule, and expectations regarding injuries, and a few other factors, several of which will go unmentioned. I will give this much right now, and everything is based on the number you're betting against, of course. Teams that look good could be overs or unders for wins based on the expected number the books release. If teams were ocean liners, they might be rated as this, in general terms, compared to what will most likely be the over/unders win number the books open with: Full Speed Ahead Cleveland-If they release a number like 70.0 or something, I gotta go with the under though. If they give me 63, I might like the over. Smooth Sailing Orlando LaLakers NY Knicks Rough Waters Ahead-Underachievers LA Clippers Boston Celtics Detroit Memphis Miami Minn Abandon Ship Milwaukee Houston New Jersey Denver I'll post my numbers and reasons why on Friday. It may not be worth a shit, but it may be helpful to someone. Thanks.
WHy rough waters ahead for say the Boston Celtics? Age/injuries?
Yeah, that's a big part of it for me. The injury factor and declining production is almost a certainty, the resting of players down the stretch should Boston secure a play-off position early, which seems very likely with the imbalance in the Eastern Conference. Good chance they get a high win number from the oddsmaker based on public perception also. Sixty or more is ridiculous. The negative is that there may be so many bad teams in the East, that the Celts can't help but win a lot of games. Ages: Wallace-34 KG-33 Pierce-32 Allen-34 House-31
