NFL Power Rankings

NFL Power Rankings I thought I would post my NFL power rankings and see if others care to post their rankings and see if we can form a group consensus. After getting bitch slapped by the NFL the last 2 weeks, I could use any input on my rankings. These rankings are all 2010 stat based and don't take into account coaching and player injuries. San Diego Chargers 106.75 New York Giants 106.3 New York Jets 105.85 Pittsburgh Steelers 105.4 Philadelphia Eagles 104.95 Tennessee Titans 104.5 Oakland Raiders 104.05 Chicago Bears 103.6 Kansas City Chiefs 103.15 Green Bay Packers 102.7 Minnesota Vikings 102.25 Baltimore Ravens 101.8 Washington Redskins 101.35 New Orleans Saints 100.9 San Francisco 49ers 100.45 Cincinnati Bengals 100 Houston Texans 99.55 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 99.1 Indianapolis Colts 98.65 Miami Dolphins 98.2 Cleveland Browns 97.75 Carolina Panthers 97.3 Denver Broncos 96.85 St. Louis Rams 96.4 New England Patriots 95.95 Atlanta Falcons 95.5 Arizona Cardinals 95.05 Buffalo Bills 94.6 Dallas Cowboys 94.15 Seattle Seahawks 93.7 Detroit Lions 93.25 Jacksonville Jaguars 92.8
You think the Patriots are in the bottom quarter of the teams? On a neutral field, I'd guess the Pats are favored over all but: maybe Pittsburgh
I may lose but I would take Pats over Carolina on neutral field for a good portion of my net worth. I do appreciate the post valueinvestor and think it was a great idea!
I would bet 50% of my bankroll on pats over STL on a neutral field.

I would line them up as: Pittsburgh Steelers 105.4 New England Patriots 95.95 New York Giants 106.3 Philadelphia Eagles 104.95 New Orleans Saints 100.9 Indianapolis Colts 98.65 Green Bay Packers 102.7 New York Jets 105.85 Atlanta Falcons 95.5 Baltimore Ravens 101.8 San Diego Chargers 106.75 Tennessee Titans 104.5 Miami Dolphins 98.2 Minnesota Vikings 102.25 Kansas City Chiefs 103.15 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 99.1 Jacksonville Jaguars 92.8 Houston Texans 99.55 Washington Redskins 101.35 Oakland Raiders 104.05 Cleveland Browns 97.75 Chicago Bears 103.6 Cincinnati Bengals 100 St. Louis Rams 96.4 Seattle Seahawks 93.7 Dallas Cowboys 94.15 Denver Broncos 96.85 San Francisco 49ers 100.45 Detroit Lions 93.25 Carolina Panthers 97.3 Arizona Cardinals 95.05 Buffalo Bills 94.6
Thanks for your input on the rankings. This year I've been trying to base my handicapping on stats more than my eyes (like 70% stats 30% eyes). Did anyone see that 60 minutes earlier this year where eyewitness testimony was wrong and DNA evidence reversed many court decisions? In trying to relate that to NFL, I've used stats a lot more this year. The power rankings are my first start in handicapping the slate each week. As for New England I would also wager a large amount on NE pickem vs STL but NE is below average in some key stats like: offensive YPA, defensive YPA, and defensive 3rd down conversions. They have been on my fade list recently. The rankings need constant adjustment and hopefully all the great minds on these boards can provide input into making good rankings.
Atlanta and Indy are also clearly better teams than Cinn and SF. Definitely makes for some interesting discussion.
Yeah, as a communicatio-type major in college we learned about the inaccuracy of eyewitness testimony. What you see in a game should confirm hypotheses derived from the stats, not the other way 'round.
