NFL referees Eagles -Colts amazing! horrible call Well, the NFL refs are amazing...Its 4th and 18 for the NFL's favoirte son Peyton Manning..the Eagles rush and just glance his helmet...flag--automatic 15 yards and first down..and the Colts cover.. Amazing In the second qtr and Eagle S hits WR collie, and it was not helmet to helmet..flag amazing game with these nfl refs The game goes over the total
and of course the mannings cover by 1. 2 tds on bs on drives extended with bs personal foul calls
I agree. Very embarrassing to watch these assclowns. Should just change the game to flag football and be done with it.
That call against Philly for supposedly roughing Manning was one of the worst (and most painful) I've ever seen.

The problem is not the refs. The problem is the rules.
Somewhat agree -
The problem is not the refs. The problem is the rules.
Sean, The problemn is the rules, however, in the NHL, the ref's have a very active role is determining wether a rule has been broken or a penality needs to be enforced. I understand they are trying to protect the quarterbacks in this league, however, there used to be (and still should be) 5 yard personal fouls (unintensional) and 15 yard fouls. This glancing blow to Mannings head should not have produced a 1st down that allowed them to keep a drive alive when they had to pick up 18 yards, clearly fumbled the ball. That should have ended the drive. But, again, I agree it is not the ref's as they are not given the ability to make decisions. They enforce "The Rules" good or bad as they may be. Just MHO I am really getting very close to the point of just turning it off. Maybe start betting on under water basket weaving contests or something... Sumo Wrestling... something
I had the Colts and I will say the call was BS (though it was about the first one all season that did not go against me). That said, the NFL is ruining the game. Where are you supposed to hit a QB? You can't hit him below the waste. If you are on the ground, you can't crawl and grab his feet - you have to stand up before touching him. You can't touch his head. If you tackle him you can't throw him to the ground - guess you are supposed to go and get a pillow and lightly seat him on the ground. Finally, you can't land on him if you fall down with him. The rules costed the Patriots the superbowl with the Giants. If these rules didn't exist, no way Manning gets loose - defensive players are scared to tackle QBs. And don't get me started on defenseless receivers. How the hell are you supposed to avoid a helmut to helmut collision when both people are moving 25MPH and going for the same ball. If you don't want to get hit, don't go over the middle. Guys didn't use to go over the middle nearly as much as now, but I guess the NFL wants scoring. It's pathetic. They should just play 2 hand touch - at least on the QB.
They definitely should have 5 yard personal foul penalties I'm sick of the incidental contact being 15 yards and automatic first downs. Runners duck into your hand and you momentarily touch the facemask and it's 15 yards and an automatic FD. I hate that. Same with some of the BS unsportsmanlike calls or excessive celebration; just make it 5 yards. We're not talking chop-blocks here, why penalize the same? I don't agree that the refs hands are tied. Get together and pick up the flag. That Manning call was atrocious. Same with the hit on Collie. Not a foul. Colts stole that cover and the zebras, not the rules, are to blame. I do agree that the rules need to be changed back to 5 yard calls and no automatic FD for minor infractions.
