NFL Teams versus NCAA Teams

I have Oakland rated at 80, two points worse that St Louis at 82. However, IMO Oakland would KILL Florida. Rember, Russell won the title when at LSU (yes, the whole team is hurting, and appears to have quit on the season).
I assure you, Fla would cover +20 much less +30. Don't assume you can just power rate each player. The Raiders schemes and coaching and QBing is so poor, Fla would be heard from.
Raider defense in week 1 ( not the current addition that has quit because of the lack of offense)would dominate the Gator offense. Eight in the box and Tebow has to throw to beat them. Go ahead and run the little cute stuff that works when your QB can run over college players. Wont work in the big boy league. However, Meyer vs Cable = serious mismatch.
if you're judging by qb'ing and bad nfl teams, remember russell and boller, among others, were stars in college. you can redboard now, but they were generally thought to be decent prospects. now they're mud. but bradford or whomever would light up the worst defense in the nfl ? since it's a hypothetical matchup, i'll have to qualify that the nfl team has a reason to care about winning, with an interest in margin. having said that, the worst nfl team vs (anybody) , i'll lay up to 19' from here to tomorrow. nfl defenses and special teams are the difference. fg conversion is very high in the nfl. nobody blocks 5-10 kicks a year in the nfl. nobody allows an average of 15 yards per punt return in the nfl. kickoffs same idea. punting much better. florida scored 24, oklahoma 14 in the championship last year. and they had more plays than they'd get in an nfl game. playing on a field where the hash mark differences help a good college offense. nfl ol's and dl's MUCH stronger. i won't even get into the skill positions, because the line of scrimmage would be murder on the cfb team (again, assuming nfl MOTIVATION for margin). this coming from a guy who HATES the nfl (see my post in old schools "things change " thread) ......christ, i wish they'd play this, but i don't know how the nfl team would have proper motivation to play for margin.
Coaching edge Florida.

While Pachuca is figuring this out mathematically, others posted good answers. Every NFL player was a star in college. Most college players aren't seniors, and most seniors won't make the NFL. The ones who get drafted might not play, and probably won't start. They are very unlikely to start in their first game. The NFL has back-up quarterbacks with Superbowl rings. I don't even want to think about college back-ups. College kickers are another obvious weak point. Occasionally in preseason or meaningless end-of-season games you will see NFL starters versus opponent backups. The difference is huge. Yet this difference is a lot smaller than the difference between NFL and college teams. Give me NFL -30 for the limit.
