NFL this weekend---More garbage teams coming guys? Frank B has a great thread doesn't he? We kick off with Indianapolis. Of course many of us are already on the Dolphins. That got hammered down. I'm not sure we'll get a selection here with the line down to 4 since you missed the 5 but I suppose it is possible. We just got San Diego. Not a crappy team but going against the best. Par for the course. I love Fezzik's picks. I don't what's wrong with half you guys. I was begging and hoping for this. Who else do we get? The Giants +9 vs. NE maybe. God that number is high for the Patriots isn't it? The league figured these guys out already didn't they? I played Redskins +4 myself but that isn't WA. But they definitely qualify as crappy. You have to consider them even at +3.5. The 49ers how many times in a year can they go to the well and win on the road at 10 in the morning? I'm not really even sure about this one myself. I want to bail and take the 49ers but I know I can't. If you were a bookie you just got to take those 49ers bets from all the squares....just got to man up and do it. And how about the Browns? They're fast becoming my team. Remember how great it looked after the 2nd pre season game? 10.5 and 11 on them now and as crappy as ever. The truth is boys our over 6.5 wins bet is in trouble but we should rake it it now thankfully as there is nobody left to bet on the Browns but the true die hards out here. In other words, you don't work a job, get paid your hard earned money and sit back on Sunday with a bet on the Browns. I'm really hoping for big things on this game this weekend against the Texans.

Browns very solid defense but offense does not move the ball at all. i too was thinking theyd be better this season than they are. they beat 0-8 indy and the 0-7 dolphins (on a last second comeback at home)! hooray for them! they also barely beat a bad seattle team 6-3 who was on road without their starting QB. look at the end of sched... cin, jac, bal, pit, ari, bal, pit. not many wins there for sure. i am very disappointed in the cle offense.
Just for the record, on the NYG vs NE that would not be one that would qualify since NYG are also in the Top 8. Not that those lists actually mean anything other than to illustrate a concept that the most positively perceived teams should be looked as possible bet against teams and the bottom teams need to be considered. I'm sure someone could make better groupings if they gave it thought. For example, is Carolina really perceived as lousy? They've covered at a 5-2-1 rate and have a a QB who is perceived to have a high upside. I just used the best records/top of the standings teams with no filters. On NYG/NE - with Nicks probably OUT and Bradshaw having a bad foot and highly questionable I think the Giants backers will not be as plentiful. Couple that with the fact that the "Pats off a loss always bounce back" chant will be heard a lot from the TV guys as kickoff approaches and it's possible we see 10 somewhere, somehow. Not saying it will be WA but with the MLine hovering around -500 offshore and as high as -600 in LV and inching upwards I wouldn't fault anyone for building a teaser position on NE and then wait and see where the line goes. (CRIS still at 8.5 along with a couple others). If/when Bradshaw gets announced as OUT we should see a spike up at least for a short while. NYG get to the QB as well as anyone so this game has a lot of the same traits as the SuperBowl they played. In other words, not a lot of weight being given to the fact that Brady will spend a lot of time with guys in his face and will have trouble getting set.
I don't think the league has "figured the Patriots out," but I don't want to lay 9 with them either. The 49ers are awesome ATS this year. I remember when we noticed they had four out of six games in the Eastern Time Zone. Well, this is the fourth one. I don't see how they can do it another week. The defense is finally getting hyped, which is fine, but they still have no secondary. Of course, how will the Redskins take advantage of that? It's a bad matchup for the Redskins. Andre Johnson is back for the Texans. I'll be in Boston in time for the Pats game, but my only jersey is a Julian Edelman one, so I'll be incognito for that. Actually considering what tickets cost, I won't even try to go to the game. Bettingwise, I'm passing on all the games you mention, but I wish you the best of luck.

I think Andre Johnson is less than 50/50 to play Sunday. Even if he does he'll be shadowed by that barnacle the Browns have at CB, Joe Haden. Next to Revis he's shut down opposing #1s better than anyone in the league. Vs a less than 100% Johnson I think he wins that battle. Just made a big position bet on CLE +11 when I saw the line dropping. If it gets low enough to tease back I may for some. I think it closes 9/9.5. EDIT: This just in - Peyton Hillis left practice today after re-injuring hamstring. I better grab a -10 and reposition.
Pretty active day for this CLE/HOU game. Andre Johnson just declared OUT. Pretty obvious the type of game we'll see. I played UN 41.
I still believe certain teams are trying to lose (Miami, Indy...and now Denver) to secure the #1 spot for Andrew Luck. Why else would Tebow be starting and Brandon Lloyd get traded? Or Chad Henne quickly head to the DL for a less than critical injury to his NON-THROWING shoulder. It's a challenge to bet on these teams week after week, trying to find that one special week that they cover the spread.
I'm not sure why it is bold. When I see my post I don't see it in bold so that is odd. It is just regular type on my screen. No intentions there Ice. Just a joke about Fezzik and his crappy teams. Half the people are right. They are crappy teams most of his picks. Thanks for all the feedback. I did watch Antonio Pierce and Tedy Bruschi discuss the upcoming game on an earlier version of NFL Live and they were talking about the game as if the Giants certainly could pull the upset. And I know it is hard to take these guys opinions too seriously since they're not betting and when they do make their picks it is often the favourite anyway. However, they mentioned Frank B's comments that the Giants will get after Brady and they have the DB's (who am I not familiar with although I might recognize the names) to play similarly to how Pittsburgh played. Tedy was very positive on the Giants. Eli has been very good this year. I don't want to say they'll win either myself but a teaser position and perhaps the best pray for +10 somewhere isn't a bad way to approach that game. I have a notice that Andre Johnson is out for the Texans.
He put it in bold to provide context. Some people do that. Others truncate the quote. It's an Internet thing. If the Giants really think they could do the same thing the Steelers did and expect to win, they're crazy. When the Browns demolished the Patriots last season, did the Patriots lose that way again? No. They made adjustments. Like a successful poker player, a good football team knows how to shift gears midseason (and even midgame). If I could get confirmation that NYG is really going to just try to xerox the Steelers' gameplan for this week, I'll be backing up the truck on NE. Surely, Coughlin is sharper than that, but I guess we'll see. The Giants have overachieved this year thus far, IMO, and I wonder whether this game will serve as a correction to their overall record, but that's just square sports talk radio right there. Someone commented about how it's too bad we don't get bye weeks like the teams do. I think this week will be a bye week for me.
