NFL Week One SDQL Actives

NFL Week One SDQL Actives Gentlemen, This thread will contain week one active trends for the NFL. Feel free to support them or call them complete garbage. The feedback these trends and systems receive will guide my future posts. I, personally, am not necessarily recommending a play on these trends and systems. You may like some more than others. Use the one you like and ignore the ones you don't. Also, I hope that the students of sports handicapping will learn the SDQL and start performing their own queries to uncover profitable situations in the NFL (as well as the NBA). I believe that the NFL database is virtually untapped. Week one will be by far the most sparse trend set because 90% of the trends in the database are based on past results. Here is the first NFL week one active trend: The Broncos are 9-0 as an away dog on Sunday when they play at home in each of the next two weeks. The SDQL text is: team=Broncos and AD and day=Sunday and n:H and nn:H and nn:week=week+2 This trend is active in week one as the Broncos are a dog in Jacksonville and they host Seattle and Indianapolis in weeks two and three. Come back tomorrow for another week one active. Prof Meyer
Hi Prof Meyer, questions :) i cant seem to get to the nfl query page, when i click on database query i get MLB but not nfl, do you have a college football database? i would like to request the following query.. in both nfl and cfb % of times a team wins by >3 points or more when the are favored by 0-10pts,10-15pts,15-20pts and >20pts.. for both home and road games, for both nfl and cfb
It seems to be working fine for me. It looks exactly the same. To check to see which database it is, type team=Bears and see what you get. If you are still having trouble, contact lvasports.com. The queries you request are relatively straightforward. -103 will return all the games in which favorite of ten points or less won by more than three points. Then run: -10
Another Week One Active The Rams are 0-12 ATS since 1995 vs any team that has beaten them six straight. the SDQL text is: team=Rams and D and P:L and PP:L and PPP:L and PPPP:L and PPPPP:L and PPPPPP:L and season>=1995 Note that the upper case P points the parameter to the team's previous game vs this opponent while the lower case p points the parameter to the teams previous game. Obviously, the upper case P is useful for querying revenge situations. As you can see by running the query, St Louis has lost these games by an average of 21.3 ppg and failed to cover by an average of 11.3 ppg. There were three active dates last season and this is active in week one when they host the Cardinals. Prof M.

Good info, but no predictive value IMO The Rams are bad ATS every week the last few years. And I seriously doubt that Denv is even aware they have 2 home games after the road one.....so just brilliant mind noise IMO.......
Thanks for the input. I'll keep trying. Let me know when you think I have something that's actually useful. Prof M.
Another Week One Active The 49ers are 8-0 ATS vs a divisional opponent when they face non-divisional opponents in each of the next two weeks. The SDQL is: team=Fortyniners and DIV and n:NDIV and nn:NDIV and week+2=tnn:week and 20041201
Maybe focus on past games. NFL teams never 'look ahead'. Another helpful tip might be to limit the searches to games including the current coach.
"past games" I agree with your emphasis on past games. After week one, virtually all the info I post will involve the team's recent results. For the opening week, I can only search on results from the previous season, the line, the total, and the team's upcoming games, as they are no results yet for the current season. Prof M.
A Week One Active System The league is 0-11 ATS (-8.1 ppg) on Sunday as a 3+ road dog in week #1 when they went to the playoffs last season. The SDQL is: Sum(playoffs@team,N=1)=1 and week=1 and line>=3 and A and day=Sunday The database on has NFL playoff data since 2002, so this one could be "better" than 11-0 ATS -- we simply can't check back farther using the on-line database. The only team in this spot this season is the Bengals, who are getting 4 in New England. If history repeats itself, the Patriots are the play. Prof M.
