Not to argue the merit of either side, but i think this was a terrible play, at least from a timing perspective.
Reason being, how often does a Monday Night Football game line NOT move towards the favorite? Particularly in a matchup like this one, where the 49ers are a popular "name-brand" team, while the Cardinals are....well, just the opposite. I laid the 49ers -6.5 early in the week, because i think it's a given that the line (come gametime on Monday night) will be 49ers -7.5 or even -8.
Just my opinion, of course, but if i were taking the points with Arizona, i would be waiting all the way until Monday afternoon; not betting them early in the week. Same thing in reverse for the Niners, as stated above.
