NFL wimp league
The Minnesota game would not have been canceled had the Giants not been stuck in KC. It's one thing when a team can;t get there. ITs another in my view to worry about driving. But everyone has opinions and none are definitively correct.
The Minnesota would have been played if the Giants could have gotten to Minnesota, like you said, but it would have also been the day after the storm. They would have played the game in Philly tonight as well except ESPN would have charged an arm and a leg because of their broadcast. Heard on the radio from one of the Vikings beat writers who is in Philadelphia. He said they made the right decision to not play on Sunday, which was all about safety. Not playing on Monday was all about the networks and money, which is why it was moved to Tuesday.
Pennsylvania governor sums it up well: https://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5960674

https://www.tri-cityherald.com/2010/12/26/1304790/eagles-vikings-to-play-first-tuesday.html I dont remember hearing a peep from anyone bitching when they move games because of hurricanes in Florida or Louisiana....it's just a little rain and wind.
hurricane force winds (70+ sustained) would be justification to cancel a game. blizzard conditions (30mph and heavy snow) is not. some of the greatest games in nfl history were played in blizzard conditions. the 'shield' is made of tin!

Import the chain gangs from truckey, tahoe and reno and play the game! ;)
That Falcons coach and his punt could make it in the NWL!
