# of Penalties in SB Prop I saw Greek at under 11-120 and with no money there I couldn't bet it but I think it is a good bet. I have scrambled to get it at Lucky's (thanks LK and I did bet some more Chad over). This prop doesn't seem to be consistently offered in this form online or in Nevada.
There are a few reasons I like this prop:
1. The trend in all playoff games has been fewer penalties. There have been a minimal number of holding calls. The Giants are the worst offenders though so that is a negative. I read something on it and I think at least up to the championship games, the games were were having fewer than 10 penalties. An average of 8? Or less?
2. NE and NYG are among the least penalized teams in the league. I also bet both teams under 5.5 penalties but I had to seek out NE as Harrahs had NE already under 5.5-150. Somebody else liked them under.
3. John Parry is the official for the game but he doesn't get his crew so it does water down the influence he might have I must admit. But he is as low as you go for an official. Other prop bettors will be interested in his tendencies as his crews are low in number of defensive interference penalties, defensive holding, etc. But like I say I'm not getting his crew but maybe I get a speech that says " BTW I don't like any penalties when I referee. I have a fear of public speaking."
He has referreed 2 games with no penalties at all in his career including one this year. There aren't many of these games.
4. Might be a bit of a directive from the league to let them play a bit more that the penalties don't make for good TV. Just a total guess. Feel free to rip that apart.
I guess I lean questionable calls Parry doesn't like them called and that is why he's there. The other officials water it down possibly unless they're cut from the same mold. And Parry is their boss today.
