Pitt onside kick....3:30+ left up by 2?

Pitt onside kick....3:30+ left up by 2? Unbelievable.
They spot GB about 30-40 yds in field position and of course gb scores.
Pretty much a fireable offense
Maybe worse call I have ever seen.

I get it............
Custer has a point for a change. Pitt was not stopping them at all. AT ALL. Coach took a shot to make a big play. Almost pulled it off. Pitts "D" is horrid right now.
Pitt coaching had no faith in the defense to stop GB. They were getting run over all in the 2nd half and were gassed. If GB drove down the field, they likely eat up the clock, kick a FG, and lose. kicking the suprise OSK gives them a shot at getting the ball back and running out the clock. wasnt a genius move, but not bad
Is there a right or wrong answer to what Tomlin did?
This isn't a 2 for 1 NBA basketball situation. If we are gonna commend Tomlin, we also have to reprimand the Green Bay staff for not letting Pitt run the kickoff back for a TD.. Because hey, YOU CAN SCORE 100% of the time on Pittsburgh's D! Why risk a Big Ben miracle at the end?

Certainly the scenario you point out is possible in theory, but it is not going to happen. So that begs the question once again. Is there a right or wrong answer to Tomlin calling that Onsides Kick?
