Plans for LVASports

Plans for LVASports We've gone around on this several ways and almost pulled the trigger on several different models, including no model at all. Ultimately, though, we decided that the model we already have is the one that's right, even if we haven't always executed it perfectly. As of today, we're working toward that goal. First things first -- Fezzik is no longer a part of LVASports. He's still a good friend of mine and will always be welcome to post here, but he's now working with pregame.com. I was initially disappointed by his decision to leave LVASports for pregame, but as self-serving as this may sound, I think it's one of the best things that could have happened to this site. I've steadfastly stated from inception that LVASports is not a picks site. But Fezzik's style was at odds with that. Several customers came here only to get his posted plays and when they didn't go well, which unfortunately was often, it undermined the whole idea. From this point forward, we're going toutless. As was originally planned, the focus of LVASports will be disseminating LVA-style value and how-to information in the same accessible and troll-intolerant atmosphere. The lead moderator will be FrankB, who's been contributing some of the absolute best information to these boards since way back when they began as FezziksPlace. Frank is one of the most knowledgeable and successful sports bettors in the business, as anyone who really understands this area of gambling will attest. He's prepared to share his insight and methods exclusively here. Both Frank and I have invited other players whom we respect to participate on the boards. It's a smaller group than what we initially had, but a much more concentrated one that makes more sense for what we're doing. We have some new things planned that we'll begin to introduce right away. One of them is an NFL contest only for LVASports members that will mimic the SuperContest. But I don't want to mask the fact that this site will be primarily about finding and exploiting opportunities, as well as bolstering your overall game. Will there be picks? Of course there will. Posters like LARRYK and rickj will continue to post along with others, and that will be an important part of the whole product, but it won't be the focus. The focus will be profiting from betting sports. Pricing will remain $24.95 per month and we're changing the full-year rate to a half-year for $99, providing a less-costly investment to check out the new effort fully that will take you through the Super Bowl. The fee allows us to keep our exclusivity and enforce our civility. I know what's coming, and can state confidently that the value of the information will exceed your outlay many times over. I'm looking forward to working with all of you again.
Anthony ... Thanks for the time and effort you put into this decision ... looking forward to a successful venture and hope this new format will exceed your expectations. Good luck to all involved and those that participate.
this frankb guy knows his stuff
We are going to go with the longtime LVA model of providing current info and pointing out the best value and opportunities for sports bettors in LV and online. The LV coverage should be the best anywhere. The goal is to provide the best info on the sportsbook scene in Las Vegas. I'm in the sports books from one end of town to the other as much as anyone because I know that's the only way to squeeze the most out of what's out there. Current info is the focus. Offshore will get coverage as well. Myself and several others here are very involved online so there should be a consistent flow of reliable info for someone participating in that often unreliable environment that exists when betting on the net. Between now and the end of the month there should be a decent representation of the type of content and info that will be found here. Sportsbook info and opportunities emphasized with members encouraged to share what they are up to if they so desire. As far as picks go, there are some who simply just want them. We've invited a handful of guys who are comfortable doing the whole picks thing and have a following. It's up to them what they put up. No one is under any obligation to provide plays though. Personally, I am not comfortable nor interested in providing picks at WA lines. I don't generally pursue WA lines so it would be disingenuous to come on here and advise others on how to best do that and then label it some kind of big contribution. Yes, I will share what I've bet if I think it's relevant to a conversation but not about to start telling people what to play each week. Really believe that with the right information you can figure out what to bet on your own. It will just be a matter of time until the whole thing sorts itself out. Some people just want to be given picks so they might eventually decide that there is not enough of that here and that's fine. I'd probably be more interested in what a few of the sharper lurkers here think about the games then some tout who splits his time between handicapping and trying to sell his opinion. This week I'll be at the LVH for the SuperContet weekend. Will keep updating what's going on there along with getting up the info on an LVH type contest for the people here. The contest will be seeded with some incentives and additional value will be added as it gets confirmed. Over the next two weeks a lot of other LV contest and sportsbook info will go up along with other content on good resources. We'll get the ball rolling and see where it goes.

All sounds like good news to me. I'm in.
