Played Buffalo + over UCF 161/162 Buffalo at Central Florida
The Buffalo Bulls have become a real money maker for their backers especially on the road. Under talented head coach Turner Gill the Bulls have cashed 15 of 20 games away from home. Earlier this season they went into El Paso and beat UTEP 23-17 as an 11 point underdog. In fact, the Bulls have won outright four straight road games, all as an underdog. They bring a streak of 9 straight road covers into Saturday nights action. Buffalo is off a loss at home to Pittsburgh in a game in which they posted a -4 turnover ratio. That's extremely rare for this club as they entered the game with a +14 turnover advantage in the Gill era. Despite the problems holding on to the ball the Bulls actually held a 7.2-6.6 yards per play edge over the Panthers. Normally teams from the north struggle when they play in the heat and humidity of Florida, but the schedule makers have done us a favor by playing this game at night. Therefore the biggest disadvantage for the Bulls is negated, besides Buffalo has seven players from Florida on their roster.
Central Florida has really struggled offensively this season. Against Samford they only averaged 4.3 yards per play and last week at Southern Miss they produced just 3.4. Because of that the Knights will be promoting second string quarterback Brett Hodges who looked good coming off the bench the first two games. But keep in mind that by the time Hodges entered those games the Knights were trailing by double digits and the opposition didn't game plan for him. We expect him to struggle in his first career start. After all, the senior rode the pine at Wake Forest and was a backup to sophomore Rob Calabrese this season.
Central Florida is not a team you want to back laying points. Last year they averaged just 16.6 points per game including 5.3 points per game in their final three home contests. They needed a late rally to beat FCS squad Samford 28-24 in their opener and they have produced just 25 first downs through their first two games. Buffalo is the better team and they know how to win on the road. It also helps to have one of the brightest young coaching minds on the sidelines. We expect the outright victory as UCF coach George O'Leary continues to struggle to hold on to his job.
PLAY BUFFALO
Good stuff Bryan. Like it also. Played it early this week.
BL, Nice write-up bro!
Hodges barely lost out to Skinner at Wake. I think they have the right QB now. Buffalo has their MAC schedule on deck. I played UCF -4. That's why they play the games! Good luck as always, Brian.

On Buffalo as well, their defense hasnt looked good thus far but they are not going against Pittburgh this week, this is UCF. PS: Thanks Custer for pushing us up a point.
