Shame on Harrahs/Caesars........

Shame on Harrahs/Caesars........ Gary Loveman is on the air talking about responsible gambling. But when it comes to sports betting, it is only the irresponsible gamblers that Harrahs wants.
We see this type of thread twice a year regarding these Harrah's: Just read this article, and it will let you know Gary Loveman's and Harrah's REAL position on responsible gambling. You lose $127 million at Gary Loveman's joint, pay $113 in cash, and what do you get? A comp, a suite, free RFB for the week? Hell to the no! Instead... Harrah's had the Las Vegas district attorney charge multi-millionaire mogul Terence Watanabe with four felonies regarding fraud and theft in what could have amounted to 20+ years in jail when there was a discrepancy over the last $14 mil on a $127 million loss Watanabe took at Harrah's properties. Harrah's literally pumps you up with alcohol and drugs and painkillers to get you to lose over $100 million, increases your credit limit, and after you pay $113 million in losses, they get the district attorney to charge you with four felonies possibly amounting to 20+ years in prison over a disagreement with the last $14 million. Great guys imo: https://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2009/may/18/gambler-who-lost-millions-claims-he-was-plied-alco/ A couple of excerpts: "Caesers employees were giving Watanabe painkillers. The drugs, combined with the alcohol, “significantly intoxicated and impaired” Watanabe, causing him to gamble more recklessly, the letter charged." "Ning opposed efforts by Caesars Palace to increase Watanabe’s credit limit in June 2007 because he believed Watanabe was “out of control” and showing signs of being a problem gambler." "The letter said that Christopher Corso, a longtime Caesars Palace bellman who indicated he was assigned full-time to take care of Watanabe’s needs, told defense attorneys that no Caesars Palace or Rio employees “ever attempted to cut off or even slow down Mr. Watanabe’s drinking or gambling.” Corso also alleged in the letter that Caesars Palace provided Watanabe with “controlled substances, namely prescription painkillers,” from September through December 2007. The letter said Corso will testify that he once saw a Caesars security officer deliver a “children’s candy box” containing Lortab to Watanabe’s room. The box was delivered on behalf of another casino employee, he contends." Two sides to every story, but it's obvious they weren't trying to stop him from gambling. Question is, how many hundreds of millions of dollars does you have to lose before someone thinks you have a gambling problem?
I just picked up a Breeders Cup Classic futures sheet from Harrah's, which was dated "Current as of Nov 1, 2010". That was a few days days after 16 horses had been pre-entered in the Classic. So at that point in time, ONLY those sixteen horses were eligible to run. How many horses was Harrah's still taking bets on, according to this updated sheet? Eighty-one.
The Gaming Commision regulates everything else, so that shouldn't be allowed. If it's not a violation, it should be. They're basically stealing from the customer, as you have absolutely no chance of winning. If any other business did that, the customer would never come back - and you may even get sued or arrested. What they get away with is unbelievable.

If you are betting futures you have a little horse betting sophistication, No one that is betting futures is going to bet on a horse not running. I am much more worried about their continuing to suck more everyday video pay tables and their table games.
I understand what you're saying, but they shouldn't even be ALLOWED to take a bet that cannot win. Just doesn't seem right.
I GUARANTEE that if they took a bet that couldn't lose they would cancel and no action it!!
why are they still doing this final poker table months after the rest? its totally senseless. just makes it disjointed and weird, does not build interest
New Vegas will continue to sucker punch anyone that comes through the door. After they plunger rape their clientel, they sell it off to someone else and start over. They have zero respect for customer retention, it's rape, then move on to the next village. I was at Binions a couple of weeks ago, plowed and playing craps cheap. Was on a roll with the dice, and the guy next to me says we both had 25 on the 9 n 5. I didn't notice until he said something. So the table boss says that the guy working the chips has been doing this a long time and he doesn't make mistakes. I refused to roll until it was resolved. He said he was going to pass the dice to the next shooter. Wishing I would have said that after I held the dice. Finally the stick lady speaks up and says he made might have made a mistake when changing up. More time passes and he admits his mistake. If she had not said anything, they would have basically stole that money. Yes, 7 out soon followed, and I went st8 to the window.
Well, we all know what gets the casinos attention, and that is your hard-earned cash. When people stop flocking to the casinos and voice their displeasure, believe me, change is gonna come. Everyone on this site is sophisticated, or in the process of becoming that, so we know a fair amount of the unfair tricks and games casinos pull. But one walk through the Rio and you'd think the whole world just won the lottery. This army of squares, which vastly outnumber sophisticated gambler, apparantly can't get enough of the horrible games the casino has to offer. Truth is, most people just want to go to Vegas, party, blow a couple of grand, and get back home after a couple of days. The average gambler could care less about reforming Vegas casinos.
