Sharp betting strategies help out so so weekend It was a good day for sharp bettors even if the board's plays were mixed here.
(1) The Arizona/Minnesota game was a gold mine although not a play here. The line opened at Minnesota -4.5 and unfortunately I didn't know to lay it but the line drove all the way to 7. This is a game where a terrific middle opportunity scores.
Moreover, experienced bettors here know that when you have the opportunity to buy to and through the 7 for 10 cents you must do that. Although I had a 7 at +7-115 I paid through to +7.5-125 to win my bet on Arizona. It is a tough break to be on Arizona at less than 7 but if anyone was it is a good lesson to learn from. And if one had 6.5 you must look at the books that had 6.5 and try to find one that allows the purchase to 7 for 10 cents.
(2) The Redskins/Giants game is a game where the result wasn't impacted by a point buy although that result was in play in the 4th quarter. Probably because of bet scoring and WA market lines Fez had the play at Redskins +6.5. Once again you must interpret that to mean that if you have the opportunity to buy to 7 for 10 cents you will do it.
(3) Jax/Oakland was another game where the opportunity to purchase the 7 on the dog was available. No play here and it also didn't factor in the result but the buying 7 rule was in effect again.
(4) The tougher breaks are games like Tampa Bay, Carolina and Cincinnati where 2 of these teams were plays by Fezzik and they score as losers. But are they? Sharp betting strategy indicated that teasers on these teams might be more effective and those all come home as winners. In fact the Pittsburgh game offered the opportunity to tease either team and win if the teaser was initiated at the right time. Sometimes you have to think teaser when dealing with small underdogs. With all of the close games this year so far the teaser has made a comeback this year.
(5) Fezzik nailed the Colts nicely as one of his winners but also note the game was a winner for Browns teaser bettors who got on the Browns as the line dipped. I'm sure Browns straight bettors aren't too happy with with missed XP as I believe +3 was around on the game earlier in the week?
We got tremendous line value on the Rams play as those who got 5.5 and 6 were rewarded by the opportunity to lay 4 on this game at reduced juice offshore but it didn't work out. It was still a good bet. PimpDaddy was right here the Packers stayed in gear and got their 2nd cover in a row. A note I read on this game was that St. Louis started a very inexperienced OL which usually spells trouble so surprised how much value this play created. However, it seems they played well and it wasn't a factor.
The Texans was another golden move and wish I didn't play back so much of my original bet. The sharp bettors got on this at 4.5 and smelled out the pounding that the Ravens would take this week. The move was dead right. I was a late follower at 6 and really didn't have a great bet when it closed 6.5.
