Shooter's Week #3 CFB
145/146 Ohio State/Toledo UNDER 58 Toledo has been very impressive on offense the first 2 games and spotty at best on defense. Of course, Tim Beckman brought his porous defensive record from Ok State where he was the DC LY. Ohio State is frequently singled out, amongst other Big 10 teams, as not having good enough team speed. That is partially true when you compare them to LSU, Florida, USC and other powerhouses. But this is Toledo. I think OSU is going to go back to running the ball and keeping Toledo's offense off the field. 193 North Texas (+38') Bama has their SEC opener on deck with Arkansas. No Texas is an improved team. UNT has lost to 2 ranked teams under Dodge (07' at Oklahoma 79-10 and LSU 41-3 in 08'). However, this is a much better team. 125/126 Wyoming/Colorado OVER 52 (-103) 126 Colorado (-6') (-111) Colorado has lost their L2 in bad fashion and now they lay 7 here? Hawkins is on the hot seat big time and they should be focused after that embarrassment on national TV on Friday night. Wyoming, despite the offensive woes LW vs. Texas, is improved on offense. Their new HC is Dave Christensen, formerly the OC at Mizzou LY. He runs the same offense at Wyoming and they will be able to put up points on the CU secondary and run a lot of plays in a no-huddle spread.
North Texas QB Dodge out. Not that it really matters. https://blog.al.com/bamabeat/2009/09/north_texas_qb_riley_dodge_is.html
152 Washington State (+6) Missed the +7, but still I have to ask. Who the F--- is SMU to lay points on the road to anyone? I took them getting +12 at UAB LW for a big play and they won outright 35-33. I know Wazzu is bad, but to go from a +12 to a now -6 fav on the road is a big jump. I think this may have happened b/c Hawaii's run and shoot ate up the Cougs, so why can't SMU's do the same? SMU just broke a 17 straight game losing streak of losing games SU as an underdog LW. 111/112 Navy/Pittsburgh UNDER 52' Last 2 mtgs have soared over the total and Pittsburgh had 34 in the first half at Buffalo LW and game went over the total by the half. This has inflated this total IMO. 190 Oregon State (+1) I liked OSU laying 1, but now I like it better. OSU had 7 TO's at Cincy 2 years ago and got crushed. OSU will be focused here big time. 113/114 Northwestern/Syracuse OVER 46 114 Syracuse (+3') (-117) NW's defense got the ball moved on them easily in the 2nd H by E Mich LW. Cuse has played hard in both games and they pass the eyeball test better than Northwestern. NW has got out ahead in two games and have let up and their offense has gone to hell in 2nd Halves.
163/164 Rice/Oklahoma State OVER 66 164 Oklahoma State (-32') (-106) Crunch. Okie State got humbled LW by Houston. Rice got crushed at Texas Tech. Rice used 3 QB's LW and not just in garbage time. They are unsure of who they are going with at QB. Okla St is the type of team that never lets up on patsy even with a big lead. They will run it up. 158 Marshall (+3) The Herd off a major butt-kicking at Va Tech and BG should've won at Mizzou and upset Troy in Week 1. However, this is a bad spot for BG. They have Boise State coming into their stadium next week and will be fired up for that one.
197/198 Florida Atlantic/South Carolina UNDER 51' FAU has trouble scoring points against top BCS conference teams. Here are their recent results: 09' at Nebraska 3 pts 08' at Texas 10 pts 08' at Michigan St 0 pts 08' at Minnesota 3 pts 07' at Oklahoma St 6 pts 07' at Kentucky 17 pts 07' at Florida 20 pts 06' at Clemson 6 pts 06' at Kansas St 0 pts 06' at Oklahoma St 8 pts 06' at South Carolina 6 pts 05' at Kansas 19 pts 05' at Minnesota 7 pts 05' at Louisville 10 pts South Carolina has a top tier defense and their 41 pts allowed at Georgia is an aberration. 121/122 Miami-OH/Western Mich OVER 45' 122 Western Mich (-16') (-107) Miami-O has been shut out in each of their first two games. However, they have also allowed an avg of 45 ppg. Western Mich has an NFL-caliber QB that can put up points. 175 Florida State (+7') 175/176 Florida St/BYU UNDER 56 FSU barely got by J-Ville St and lost in their home opener. Now they take on an overvalued BYU team. I know it's tough to play at altitude as well, but I still like the Noles in this spot. This is a statement game for BYU for their BCS hopes, but it's also a statement game for FSU as well. 173/174 Iowa State/Kent State OVER 45 (-109) ISU scored 3 LW and Kent scored 7 at BC and only 18 in their home opener vs. Coastal Carolina. The under looks too easy. I think Kent steps up in their first game without star RB Eugene Jarvis, who is now out for the year.

162 UCF (-4) (-107) Buffalo has played a little better than expected to start the season with a win at UTEP and scoring 27 on Pitt. UCF got their offense going a little better when they played Brett Hodges (Wake transfer) at QB. 179/180 Air Force/New Mexico OVER 46 180 New Mexico (+17) 147/148 West Virginia/Auburn UNDER 53' Totals have now caught up a little to Auburn's new offense and the addition of Gus Malzahn. Off the Over train for a week. 178 Arkansas (-1) (-115) Arky off a bye LW and have prepared for Georgia essentially all summer. Georgia off two tough games at Okla St and South Carolina. How much gas will they have in the tank here? 183 Texas Tech (+17') A few years ago, Texas was ranked #2 and hosting an undefeated #10 Texas Tech team and laid 17 and easily covered. Now they face an unranked Red Raiders club in a revenge spot and they open less than 17? Something's fishy here. 187/188 San Jose State/Stanford OVER 47' 187 San Jose State (+17') San Jose took out running and throwing QB Kyle Reed and went with Jordan LaSecla, more of a pocket passer and although they didn't win, the move proved to be a good one. LaSecla went 22/34 for 269 yds with a TD and INT. I think the Spartans offense has a spark now with this new QB. The Spartans were always able to use the "red-headed stepchild" or the "poor Bay Area kids and school" vs. the "rich patricians of Palo Alto" argument. People caught on to it and their new motivation this year has to be that they got buried by the Cardinal in the L2Y. As I said LW, I'm a sucker for taking Dick Tomey and good-sized points. Stanford had to fly all the way back across country after being beaten w/ :02 left in a game they seemingly had in the bag at Wake. I expect Stanford to perhaps be a little flat early. 203/204 UL Monroe/Arizona State UNDER 54 139 Kansas State (+12') Going back to my long history of handicapping Neuheisel. Terrible bet as a fav, great bet as a dog. UCLA went into Knoxville in front of over 100,000 and won over the Vols. K-State lost at UL Lafayette. Looks like an easy take for UCLA, right? 185/186 Hawaii/UNLV OVER 56 (-109) I like how UNLV's #2 QB, Mike Clausen, came in and played in the 4th replacing an injured Omar Clayton. He was 6/9 58 yds and 2 TD against a good Beaver defense. If Clayton doesn't go, this other kid looks competent. Hawaii got their offense going again LW and I see a shootout here.
North Texas QB Dodge out. Not that it really matters. https://blog.al.com/bamabeat/2009/09/north_texas_qb_riley_dodge_is.html
I saw it earlier Helmut. This is more of a play against Bama's focus here with the SEC opener on deck. Thanks for posting this link.
Any thoughts on the curry eating national championships being held in Dubai? :)
Haven't looked at it yet. I've been busy with the World Snooker Finals.
Haven't looked at it yet. I've been busy with the World Snooker Finals.
Men or Women Divisions? :) Good Luck my man
FYI. One of my good friends that works with the texas tech team just told me that their starting defensive end and strong safety are out and will not travel to austin. Their best wr detron lewis will travel but is suffering from a major hamstring injury and they dont know how good he will be.
