Glad someone said it. When I get PMs about discontinuing I thank them for their business and invite them to return any time. But these announcements are pretty much a screw you, hope you lose thing. Spare us. If you don't want to buy a new suit, do you run up to the cash register and say "I don't think this suit works for me"? Sorry, but we have too many who are happy and are looking forward to the college bowls and NFL playoffs and Super Bowl. I don't think they care if you've decided to move on.
Interesting...
I think we all agree that your site here is new and somewhat experimental in that you are trying something different and I'm sure you want it to succeed.
I remember in another thread, when there was criticism about Fez's lack of posting, you said:
For the record, we have no problem with criticism like this. Valid and fair complaints will make us better.
But now your comment appears to tie you in to an established suit making operation and refusing to care if a customer is not happy? While I agree a random announcement of "I'm leaving" is not helpful to you, but it seems you would gain more if you asked for a reason why he is leaving, as opposed to posting a comment like that. It could help improve your product. Remember, you won't have the "momentum" next season off the back of the "Fez posts here, won the last 2 Hilton contests" that you had this season. You'll still have customers, but I'd be surprised if you had the number of new signups as you had prior to this season. So retaining current customers, I'd think, would be your prime priority.
