Sportsmemo hits a 20,000 to 1 Losing Streak Yesterday for a 55% Capper

Sportsmemo hits a 20,000 to 1 Losing Streak Yesterday for a 55% Capper Let me apologize for this post, but this is unreal. Somebody tell me I'm wrong so someone can delete this thread. Over the last 2 Saturdays, Sportsmemo has lost -65.6 units collectively, and gone 27-77 over 104 plays. There are a lot of duplicate plays with 2 or 3 cappers taking the same pick, so I sorted it by unique picks which were 11-33 yesterday and 13-22 Saturday, Nov. 27. Odds of going 11-33 or worse at on coinflip plays for 55% cappers is 0.0051579%, or 1 out of 20,000. 24-55? Try 1 out of 300,000. Is this even possible? Apparently so. Nobody is this good or bad, but man, what a streak. To be fair, I would think they've got a few days in their archives where they've gone this well winning. I don’t mean to single out these guys, because they may really be good handicappers, and there's some data mining picking the dates, but this kind of performance cannot be ignored. I feel bad for these guys.
Careful - you might get banned for singling out these guys. Truth is, it has been a terrible run for them (MOST of them anyhow) all season. Even longtime NBA sharpie ER is off his game, and how! I posted 3 weeks ago that "Teddy has hit the wall", and man alive it spread to the crew, big time.
Unfair 'cherry' pick of 2 select days, the last 2 Saturdays...... But I do agree with the big picture here. Winning vs. Widely available lines at -110 in major sports at even 53.5% just isn't going to happen for 99.9% of 'pro' handicappers. The guys that are going to do it are the ones who 1) Are really good at one sport, maybe 2 maximum 2) And who aren't getting distracted burning time on other sports You can tell me a guy has hit 55% the last 20 years, you can tell me a guy won 50 units in 2008, it's a different world. He is a big dog to hit even 53% the next 3 years. I don't think Edward at RAS is smarter than anyone else but I LOVE his model. Focus on 1 sport, a sport with soft lines, and hire 4 guys to help you get hard to find info. Unfortunately, it is impossible to bet his stuff for any volume, so you can win with him, but only for maybe 1k a play, AND get tosssed left and right from books doing it. You can win with 'good' handicappers if you are a darn good bettor. The days of just getting the plays having 3-4 outs, shopping for the best -110 line, and winning are long gone.

As for the books, I deal with offscreen locals only and always see people complaining about getting down on anything. I guess I am lucky so far not to have that problem. Maybe you are focusing too much on the big offshores? I personally can get down 10k (if not way more) eyes closed on anything/anywhere including qts/teamtotals etc... tgunn

I have seen the complaints today at several places. Tim has gotten so cold it is scary. THe picks from the blog that has been good in previous years is so bad it is mind boggling.
Tgunn I'd love to know how you get down decent action on RAS picks. I find it impossible. I have several outs, not just CRIS, OLY, or Pinn; most of them offscreen but it doesn't matter. Limits are low during his early morning releases and I usually can't even get the first bet in for a dime at the released number. I've got no chance once I try at the second or third offscreen. It's like they are on automoved tied to Pinnacle or some other major book. No matter how obscure the out I have, they are moving at lightning speed. I'd love to get a count (show of hands) how RAS customers feel about their ability to get down a dime or more at the release number. I'd be amazed if even half of his subscribers are content with their action.
I will not lie, have no benefit to... I get 2k sides 4k totals, have been doing so with 2 locals/offscreens for over a year. I can get even more, but thats all my BR can afford. Last year I was playing the plays with a couple partners and we were doing 3500/7000. Like i've said in a previous thread, I use the browser find option punch in the rotation number to save time upon release. It brings you straight to game and I cut/paste the amount I want to bet in advance into the book. I have my blackberry set to receive warnings for releases that come outside normal hours and I am usually always near a computer. Little tips/trick like that might help you save a few seconds. They are slow as shit though so it may all be luck for me? tgunn
I'll say this, and anyone who has bet for any amount of time has a few 0-8s, 1-8s, 3-12s in their betting books. I know I have. I don't keep two extra keyboards and two extra calculators in the closet for nothing. And we all have had unbelievably bad streaks that should only occur once every 1000 years or so. At least these guys have to the courage to post their picks. I've used Sportsmemo for Helmut's plays, but after they flipped a couple of picks accidentally, I was done with them. If different sides of the plays weren't released on the email vs the website, it may have never become public knowledge. I don't know if the wrong side of any other plays were given out and the clients never knew about it.
I did exactly the same thing. No chance. Last year was better. This year football was a nightmare trying to get the release number. I didnt even bother signing up for basketball.
The guys that are going to do it are the ones who 1) Are really good at one sport, maybe 2 maximum 2) And who aren't getting distracted burning time on other sports
Um...but how are the guys at sportsmemo going to make money if they only sell for 1 or maybe 2 sports? if you have 10 cappers capping all sports, then someone is BOUND to be doing well at something. and that's what you push. alatex is winning! put them on the front page! helmut is winning at totals. emphasize that! (forget making it easy to find his record on sides for 2010) Sportsmemo may have good guys there but they are still touts above anything and the guys that run the place, while making it easy to find yesterdays plays, make it very difficult to find records for any tout for any sport. the only thing easily accessible is the good info....the rest is shoved under the covers
