Don't think that's going to change now... Didnt you get the LVA email last night? It describes Fezzik as a "Las Vegas sports-betting legend." I think they'll take the $25 however they can get it.
He is. No one's ever done that before, or will again. He's the moderator on this board and this board alone. Why wouldn't we embrace that? Regarding the rest of this, I don't think this is in any way going in the "wrong direction." The reality is, there's absolutely no way to satisfy everyone. Fezz and I talked over what we could do to make this good. I think we were able to accomplish about 60% of that. But that's after only five months. After the Super Bowl we'll analyze and adjust. For example, some of the negativity has come from people we recruited to be a part of the effort. It seemed like the way to go, but we miscalculated the degree to which some viewed this as conflicting/competing with their existing situations. OK, we've invited a few of them out and we'll bring in stronger contributors. I can honestly say that this has already gone well beyond my original expectations, so we'll push hard to bring more value and take it even farther. The key to that is letting those that really don't want to be here go their own way. It's natural.
I have lived in LV for 10 years now and always have wanted to bet sports to make money. I've come a long way from the paying scammers for picks to listening to Fezzik and others here on the local radio, reading forum info, etc. and learning how the pro's do it. I have neither the time nor bankroll to bet professionally and I"m still not sure you can even bet professionally if you don't cap yourself - though using folks like Helmut and RAS or doing a FezDek can likely get you there. So having said all that, you can see I only tail others picks. I think this forum is pretty darn good - total no brainer for $25 a month. That small fee keeps out a lot of the crap. And you just have to learn who to tail and when. For example, I usually don't tail Lakeerielenny but last night he had a hoops write up on NO +14' in college hoops that seemed like the nuts so I put a 1% unit on it (and won). I think you have to study and learn and be selective - know who to trust and in what situations. I used to tail Fezzik blindly but no more but I want to know what he's on for sure - I do tail his Futures picks blindly and will continue to do so. As someone who follows others picks, and I think there are a lot of us on this board, I'd like to see the following though I don't expect it or require it to stay on board: 1) I'd like to see those who post plays keep their record - I can't track everyone's record so I don't know who is doing well and who is not. I think what Dude does with his % of bankroll record tracking is the standard all who post should follow. The record would be for plays posted on here only. 2) Write ups - helps make me decide if I want to tail. However, if those who post plays don't want to do the above, who I am to say otherwise. As FrankB said, if you tail, you can't expect same numbers, etc. It's the price you pay for being a follower, not a creator. If you don't like the board, make your suggestions for improvement and either accept what happens or leave. Pretty simple.
He is. No one's ever done that before, or will again.
None of us will be alive long enough to make a wager but if the contest continues to get 300-ish entrants a year, I'd gladly take "YES" that there will be another repeat winner in the next 100 years.

I think Anthony stated from day 1 that this is not Fezzik's place, and not to soley rely on Fezzik posting plays every day, ALTHOUGH, he would come in and post plays and suggestions from time to time. The $25 fee, along with certain posters being banned, keeps out the garbage that was on the old site, as well as the whining, arguing, and bullshit you see on other forums. I think on any board, you are gunna get people venting and having a difference of opinion, that's just human nature. I would rather come on this board and talk about a bad beat, rather then turn to my wife and kids and say, "dam, did you see how we just got screwed?" There's a lot of learning to be done on these forums, and this one has a good cross section of people with various backgrounds. Reading Fez', Goose' Blackout' and LVMike' opinions on the City Center and other things going on in Vegas is GOOD STUFF. I'm sure this board will move in a positive direction and continue to get better.
there's absolutely no way to satisfy everyone. ... negativity has come from people we recruited
Everyone wants a forum with a good signal-noise ratio. You cut out the noise with a modest fee; that worked great. You still need to build content. Fezzik no longer has an officially tracked record or even a Fezzdaq. And he has often refused to provide reasoning. No official picks and no reasoning gets pretty thin. While there may be some jealousy, Fezzik attracted critics with his own criticism elsewhere. Their remarks can actually be helpful by explaining line value, contest strategy versus cash strategy, monitoring issues, etc. LVASports has been thin-skinned and busted too many of these comments. If Fezzik won't provide much content and you censor his critics' content then you aren't left with much. Put it this way - negativity that saves me $110 is worth more than a pick that wins me $100.
Well stated KimLee!
I would love to see the Fezzdaq come back again.

Makes me think.
"charlie j---i do not think he post alot---would like to see more" I completely agree. He has well-thought-out, in-depth info with solid analysis that persuades you to follow him.
