Think this line is way too low Not sure many have noticed but the D-Backs have quitely looked like a pretty good team of late.
They have been beating up on the bad teams, going 11-2 against below .500 teams since the all-star break. Along the way they have had the highest OPS in the National League since then, which ranks only below the Angles and Yankess in all of baseball.
The Pirates are an absolute mess and have completely quit on the season with all their trades they made at the deadline.
They have been spanked in both games in this series, being outhit 22-6. The scores don't tell how bad this has really been. Yeah the Pirates have hit well at home this year but that was a totally different group and before all the trades. Their just isn't much their in the Pirate dugout.
Arizona has Max Scherzer on the mound and is one of the better young arms in the game. This guy has electric stuff and averages over a strikeout per inning. The Pirates who are already struggling to score should have an extremely hard time getting anything going off of him. In fact he just shut them out July 26, striking out 8 and walking zero.
Pittsburgh counters with Kevin Hart who has walked 18 guys and has only 13 strike outs. He pitched for the Cubs before his trades to the Pirates. Nothing speical from this guy who will be feeling the pressure a bit pitching in his debut for his new Pirates team.
Not a big fan of road favorites but these two teams are trending in the opposite directions very FAST and with that leaves much value in this one, IMO. I got Arizona -115 at the open but there is still some -120ish out there. Surprised it hasn't went much higher and think it will soon.
