i was thinking the same thing, and didn't expect anything from the announcers, but surprisingly, the play by play guy inferred they should, but andre thought not.

TUL up 3, 60 seconds left, UTEP with the ball on the TUL 5, 3rd and goal, 1 timeout remaining for TUL. what does TUL do? call a timeout on a critical play to not only organize the defense but also prepare for a potential winning drive with a min left? no, the answer was to let the offense run the clock down to 28 seconds before running their play, of course. and yes, they utilized their final timeout after being sacked on their own 20 with 12 seconds left. brilliant. PALM TO FOREHEAD #140 for the season. this stuff really does happen too often.

I would also like to thank the Tulsa "braintrust" for uber-conservative three straight running plays when they were up 24-21with 6 mins left in the game.
