Twitter Idiots When will these MORONIC athletes learn to stop twittering their politically incorrect dribble. Even if you believe it sometimes you need to shut the hell up. Mendenhall of the Steelers was reportedly on Twitter ridiculing those who were celebrating Bin Laden's death and asking how they could do that if they had never even met him and saying we only heard one side of the story. He also expressed disbelief that a plane could bring down a building alluding to a possible hoax about 9/11.

America is the land of free speech, but don't be surprised that so many people are unhappy with what he said. That's MY right. It's not like anyone's about to arrest the guy. Still, he should know to STFU. Comments like that don't sell tickets to Steeler games. Just my opinion.

"VATICAN CITY -- The Vatican said the killing of al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden, a man who sowed division and hatred and who caused "innumerable" deaths, should prompt serious reflection about one's responsibility before God, not rejoicing." and then brought up a Bush conspiracy of 9/11 which is hardly a new thought.... agree...disagree...he shouldnt be chastised for having an unpopular thought. i havent heard a big uproar for what the Vatican released

He is not the Vatican who can claim some responsibility for the morality of their followers. AGAIN, I have no issue with what he said (even though personally I may diagree) or his right to say it, my problem is with him saying it when he is a paid entertainer and should know that this will piss off some (who cares how many) fans. My point is why speak out on a controversial issue and risk making those who allow you to make a living mad at you. He has NO upside. I know people who wont see a Tom Cruise movie because they think he is an idiot because of his personal beliefs, same point.

Or do we just assume athletes are dumb by default?

He is dumb as hell if he thinks the USA did 9/11 themselves. Got to love a guy who tweets about getting head and the structural integrity of skyscrapers on the same day.
