UFC 104: Machida vs. Shogun

There ya go, no such thing as a sure thing in the UFC :). Props to Hua, even though he didn't get the title.

Rua got robbed bad! He won that fight 4 rounds to 1 (and maybe even 5-0)! Thought I was watching a Don King production or something.

I am a Shogun fan from the PRIDE days, but I thought the first two rounds could have gone either way. Machida won the third and fourth, with Rua winning the fifth and final round. I was thinking a split decision or maybe a tie, but it was a unanimous decision. I guess you have to beat the champion overwhelmingly to be the champ. They were talking a automatic rematch, but it was too much like a karate match with selected furys and long periods of relative inactivity. Don't know if I want to see this again.

Even Machida couldn't believe they raised his hand. You see his face? No way, he got beat and he knows he got beat and this is coming from a huge Machida fan! Rua was the agressor throughout, he had more clean shots, and even hurt Machida with all them leg kicks he ate for five straight rounds. It was funny watching Machida limp around the ring after the fight with his belt on, with this surprised look on his face, "I won"?

as the officials protect there NE Pats, Florida gators, LA lakers so do the undeafeated fighters of the ufc

its becoming a production like boxing for the ppv and rematch $$$$$. shogun wont be so motivated next time around and will be drilled. cant believe how well conditioned he was for the fight. did you hear what they said about his pre fight physical and weigh in??? 46 beats per minute resting heart rate? Thats a sick in shape sob! he was robbed
