UNC/VA Tech I don't like the game tonight but it is interesting. Just a million angles at play here.
Better D is getting over 2 TD's. Statistically, anyhow. But UNC's been better statistically in conference play too. (Correction: Actually not, working with week old UNC stats, FSU game took away slight in-confererence D edges).
UNC was -3.5 at home last year, allowing for home field nearly a 2 TD swing.
Huge decline by TJ Yates year-to-year.
2008: 8.7 YPPass, 11 TD, 4 INT
2009: 5.6 YPPass, 7 TD, 8 INT
lost all his good receivers to the NFL, none of Butch Davis' heralded recruits panning out.
Huge improvement by Tyrod Taylor year-to-year.
2008: 6.0 YPPass, 2 TD, 7 INT
2009: 9.5 YPPass, 15 TD, 3 INT
if you had told me this summer that this guy would have the highest Yards Per Pass Attempt of any QB in the country....
Teams that lose as a home fave usually do well as a road dog next out. But that was a kick in the gut to blow that FSU game. And Tech has a 5 day rest edge.
Like I said, no shortage of hadnicapping angles in this game.
