Waiting for Fezzik's "should have let them score" post.

Waiting for Fezzik's "should have let them score" post. Still don't know why this is never talked about.
Because they were up 6, not 1 or 2.
It's often the right move but not this time. I'll take my chances with my D rather than need to go 80 yards with no timeouts. Normally it's the right move only when you are down by 1.

If Addai scores with 1:12 remaining, assuming they get the kickoff at around the 25, they would need to go about 45 yards for a reasonable field goal chance. That's tough with no timeouts, but possible with Brady and company.
Why 80 yards? I'm thinking Brady with a minute plus and 50 yards to get in range. Belichick already indicated he had no confidence in the defense.
We are on the same page, he goes in and Indy is up 1, Pats need to go around 45-50 yards with a little over a minute left. Might be better than 1st and goal from the 1, having to stop then 4 straight times.
Lets see, first you go for it from around your 20. Then you want them to allow a TD. Thats what I call showing some confidence in your defense. :)
i would think the intentional score from the 11 with 1:30 left would be pretty well correlated with the decision to go for it on 4th and 2 from your own 28, up 6 .................
Whops, 50 yards, my bad, but still more likely to get the stop with the D. No timeouts is a monster liability.
