To clarify What happens each year....
1. Everybody reads the same publications, and their are about 30 of them. The newsletters that blabber on about 'returning starters this and returning starters that'.
2. The LARGER line moves LOSE. Look at the following.
a) 134 UNDER...opens 49, closes 46.
b) 137 OVER...opens 48, closes 51.
c) 140 UNDER...opens 51, closes 48 (yes OT hurt)
d) 141 USC minus, opens 18, closes 20 (note 2 point sides require more money to move than totals)
e) 146 UNDER....HUGE MOVE...opens 56, closes 48.5
3. Toutworld (and yes I do subscribe to them, so this is not a bash on them) many of these guys line up on same side of a game. CRUNCH.
BOTTOM LINE is most of us hardly know these teams at all in Week 'zero' and we wish we did. Folks get excited because football is back and bet more games than they should. The next 5 weeks after we see these teams LIVE will be fruitful. Lessons in sportsbetting are the key to longevity, and this is one of many lessons that repeats itself often in CFB week 'zero'.
This is not a rant, but free advice that could allow some people's bankrolls to last a bit longer. FWIW, Dudesports Inc. lost 2% last night ...sigh....
