Week 4 NCAAF Miami OH +7.5
Missed the 8.5's that were out there, but I think this spot warrants a play on the Redhawks. They changed up their QB in a desperate attempt to inject some life into their offense and the new QB played well. They're 0-3 ATS and everyone knows just how bad (and inexperienced) this team is (especially their offense). They've had a tough start, playing Kentucky, @ Boise St, and @ Western Michigan.
It took them 10 quarters into the season before scoring a single point! But their offense really began rolling after scoring that first touchdown, the 421 yards notched were the most by a Miami team in two years and the 27 first down matched a high by a MAC team this season. Miami lost 54-21 to Kent last year, but it was a Kent team that had Justin Edleman, current Patriots rookie. Kent St's down to their 3rd string QB, and I shudder to think what a 3rd string QB looks like for a MAC team. Kent State ranks near the bottom in the country in several offensive categories, ranking 111th in rushing and 110th in total offense.
Ohio St -14
I guess I just don't understand this line whatsoever. It opened at 17 and immediately got pounded down to 14. I anticipate some buy-back at some point. Illinois is severely short-handed, and even though they're coming off a bye week, they're catching Ohio St. at the wrong time. This is the part of the schedule where Ohio St. shines--Big 10 season.
Also looking at some of the following numbers:
Fresno St. +17.5
Stanford -7
Purdue +7.5
