tcu has a better body of work, beat virginia on the road, beat clemson on the road, beat byu on the road 38-7 and ranked in the top twenty, pounded utah 55-28 and also ranked in top twenty, finish thumping wyoming 45-10 and new mexico 55-10, they were a train nobody was willing to bet against. They had nineteen MWS selections, nine first teamers and both offensive and defensive players of the year. They should be playing alabama if texas wins or loses.
I have to disagree that TCU has a better body of work. They won at Virginia, only problem is, Virginia is horrible. Beating Clemson on the road is a nice win, but Clemson is an 8-5 team that got beat by S.C. and a 2 win Maryland team. Beating Utah and BYU were solid wins, but rest of conference schedule was terrible. Texas, assuming they win, will have beaten Oklahoma, Okla St. and Neb, three top 25 teams, and will have beaten teams in their conference, that are much more credible than the teams TCU beat in their conference. As far as body of work, goes, it's close, and could go either way. Does TCU go undefeated playing a Big 12 schedule, maybe, makes for good radio chatter.
