Yanks even money to win pennant!
Curious to see if most agree that the Yanks at these odds were a much better bet than even money to win the pennant?? thanks!
The question is not whether most agree. The question is one of arithmetic: plan a) bet $410 at -410 on the NYY/Min series. Win $100. plan b) bet $410 on NYY to win the pennant. Now, to hedge, bet $315.38 at +160 on LAA to win the series. There is no further risk. You have won $94.62.
satisfied?
satisfied?
NO. That Monday night game I know guys that bet -1000 LIVE that the Bills would win (late in the 4th up 2 scores). They said it was a good bet. I asked Fezzik and he did the math and said good bet. TO me not a good bet at -1000. The odds are actually higher than +160 more like +165 and higher at some places. I am not betting -400 or whatever and am sure many quality gamblers would tell you the same thing. This is my view. Just like when Fezzik said lay the ML on the pats in the SUper Bowl on the Gmen. Again. NO THANKS.
You actually did bet -400 on the divisional series.. You just worded it as betting even money to win the AL, and then heding..
Right. It is pretty much the same mathematically. I just am not soley laying -400 amd prefer my bet.
you can prefer your bet all you want; just understand it's mathematically inferior to the alternative. as far as laying -380 on a 12pt nfl fav, if you don't make that bet you should consider another hobby. if you don't want to lay a lot of juice that's fine but don't try to justify it.

You are talking about -380 ML NFL 12 pt favorites. WHo do you like this week dude? AND WHy? I will tell you who I like if you tell me and explain who you like. Do you post plays? Talk about Texas Oklahoma for me?
are you trying to tell me you would never lay -380 w/a 12 pt nfl fav?
are you trying to tell me you would never lay -380 w/a 12 pt nfl fav?
NO. It is probably better that we do not discuss this. I win every year at this. Good luck!
wow. i imagine you do. how can anyone lose?
