As noted in the current issue, Caesar's now charges for early check ins. It was mentioned that this is an on-going research. I would like to add that as a Diamond member who uses comp rooms, when I have called to make the reservation on my last four trips, I have been asked what time I would arrive. If I told them any time before 4 PM, I was told there would be an early check in charge (even for comp rooms).
So, I would tell them at 4PM. On the last four trips (Ballys twice, Harrahs once, and the Paris once), I simply showed up at 1 or 2 PM and was given a room right away with no early check-in charges. So, my suggestion for readers is when making the reservations, say you're going to check in at 4 PM and then simply show up when you do and see what happens. The worst would be that you'd come back after 4 PM, but I think it's a safe bet you'll be processed without any charge.
