MRB on ebay

Someone is selling their MRB on ebay. Some people just have to make a buck and ruin it for the rest of us.

A staff member should buy the MRB and then give them a real suprise. The coupons are simply a great saving tool for it's members and should not be abused in any fashion.
Thanks for the heads up.

Not trying to stir up the pot... but is there any "rule" prohibiting the re-sale of an MRB? I understand you can't do it on this board... but if I want to do it on eBay, or on the Vegas Strip, I should be able to...

Yes, there is a "rule" and in my opinion, you shouldn't be able to. People like you will ruin it for the rest of us if casinos stop giving Anthony and the LVA coupons for its "members" to use. That's why it is called the "Members Rewards Book."

For the record, I am not selling my book... so let's not accuse me of "ruining it for others."

I just don't understand the argument that only the "original" buying member should be able to use the book. Casinos offer these coupons as a marketing tool. Whether I use the coupon myself or someone else uses the coupon from my book, it is in the casino's benefit when a coupon gets used.

One could argue that selling the book should make the casinos happy, since their coupon becomes exposed to an additional potential customer.

Let's be honest: the casinos aren't trying to do us a "favor" by putting their coupon in the book. They are marketing. The point of marketing is to get your message in front of as many people in your target market as possible.

The only one losing out from an MRB being resold is LVA. I don't think you'll hear many casinos complaining and threatening to pull their offers.

I have to agree that the LVA and the LVA membership/community are the ones most affected by the sharing/selling of an MRB.

IMHO:

That's even more reason not to share/sell an MRB.

Supporting the LVA so Anthony (and all the great staff at the LVA) can continue to provide the MRB as well as these forums and all the great information on the LVA web site seems like a good idea and would seem to be in the best interest of all LVA members. I think the LVA provides us with a great "package" and I'd like to keep it that way while keeping the membership fees as low as possible .... for all of us not just for those that choose to break the "rules" in order to reduce their membership fee. Hopefully, they are and will continue to be a small minority.
Anthony deals w/ these casinos to get deals for US- his people, not the gen.pop.
Re-selling a MRB is bad business and we could all suffer as the result.
It's one thing to give another LVAer or co-worker the book if you're not going to Vegas the rest of the year- give, not sell- that's key.
I've done both- along w/ giving my old POV to a baggage handler who was thrilled in Oct. of 2008 when I knew I wouldn't be back til next year
