Newbie, last was 2002, MRB

Hello

I joined beginning week of 01/2012

For the last two Months, I have enjoyed the forums.

Last time member here was 2002.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm sure this is not an admin question, so I need direction.

Where, Whom, How, do I find about my MRB mailing to my home?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I know this gets posted over and over, but I decided to wait till now.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I waited to March 1st.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How do I get my MRB that has not been received? How long does it take?

Whom to I call?

Thanks

Thanks, sadlass38, for your answer, good job.

Never opted for office pick up and no hold either for paid $50 subscription, not the $37.50 that is a hold.
I'll call the office, thanks.
Seems to have been more than a few that didn't receive them this year - but it all seems to be being sorted out OK and as smoothly as possible.
Guessing they will use a different mailing house next year.

Well, I just looked at my receipt and it says $50 - Hold MRB, so it is my fault.

I'm not sure why I would want to hold MRB when paying full subscription price and our trip is not until September? I'll have to pay better attention when renewing next time but here is my question to staff.

When signing up, does the process DEFAULT to Hold MRB and you have to select, click on something else?

If so, just a suggestion, at that point in the process, have nothing defaulted, and make the member CHOOSE an option.

This would help cut down on administrative tasks such as this. If the system already does this, then it was my mistake and please accept my apology. Thanks
It's cool. We've been looking at the process and this helps.

Anthony, and others looking at the forums.

Anthony, you don't have to do anything, to the system, but take note on your wording on your web site..

I called the office and she said the mailing fee was $3.50 ontop of the $50 so I paid that yesterday.

Today, I was wondering how the subscription process works, so I clicked on new membership and there are two places to click on, one for Online Membership and one for Print Membership.

When you click for online membership, the very next page has two option, online with MRB mailed for $40.50 and it is DEFAULTED on, and one for $37.00 MRB hold, that you have to choose.

Next, I clicked on the one call PRINTED MEMBERSHIP and the next page show up as labeled FULL MEMBERSHIP. It also has has just two options, 53.50 with MRB mailed and is defaulted on, and one for $50 MRB hold, that you have to choose

So this dumb dumb clicked on the MRB hold by mistake. After thinking about if for awhile, I realized what I was thinking, verses what is on the page, that made me choose the wrong one.

When reading the differences between online and printed membership (printed membership then changes its name to FULL MEMBERSHIP on the next page, confusing here also), the main thing my mind focused on was under the benefits of FULL MEMBERSHIP, it said mailed, and my mind defaulted to that meaining the monthly issues ALONG WITH THE MRB coupon BOOK.

Second, when it came to choosing between $53.50 MRB mailed or $50 MRB hold, I did not know what MRB stood for (which I now know is Memeber Reward Book). So I clicked on MRB Hold.

So my mistake came from two places:

1) Mentally from the writing on the web page, my mind defaults into thinking that online is online everything, and Full Subscription is Full everything, which it is not.

2) Not knowing what MRB stood for. Remember, the last time I had memberships was in 2000,2001,2002.
I just knew, I going to vegas this year, and the first thing I need to do is get a membership at LVA (and I tell everyone this BTW). Maybe add the wording.... MRB COUPON Book would help where the two choices are that you have to choose from.

I now know from going back and looking at the wording near the top of the page, it talks about "Mailing of MRB Coupon book", but I passed over all that writing at the top thinking it was sales pitch blah blah blah material, and went down to where the two choices are.

Suggestion:

Add the wording to where the two choices at the bottom of the page are, where you click on which membership you want to include:

MRB COUPON BOOK mailed to you
MRB COUPON BOOK hold, you pick up at our office

Or better yet

Member Reward coupon Book mailed to you
Member Reward coupon Book hold, you pick up at our office

If you do that, then other dumb dumbs like me will not screw up, thanks.
